Polls indicate the Republicans will retake the House and Senate from Democrats this fall.
"I believe in this next election, this is a 50-year election. Never before are we going to feel this type of opportunity in a year of redistricting," McCarthy said July 26 at the Trump-headlined America First Agenda summit. "We can lock in a conservative majority for the decade."
McCarthy, asked about lessons from the Republicans' takeover of the House in 1994, said his conference will unveil its agenda in September in a move reminiscent of the "Contract with America."
"For the last year and a half, every single one of our members have been part of a task force finding solutions. We've been coming together; we're going to meet tomorrow. We're going to roll part of that out ... our commitment to America," McCarthy said. "We're going to go back in August, talking and listening to our constituents, finalize it and roll it out in September."
Previewing policies on energy, crime and foreign affairs, McCarthy said Republicans will "withhold money [from] any prosecutor that doesn't uphold the law and picks and chooses who they go to prosecute."
If Trump is involved, a full 55-60% of the public will vote the other way. McCarthy has sold out every principle he ever had in craven obedience to Trump, and most of us know he and others sharing his attitudes are toxic to the Republic. We survived Clinton, we survived Obama, the Republic was hanging by a thread after Trump lost but denied it. I favor our traditional Republican Party policies, but the only policy it has now is blind obedience to a would-be authoritarian. McCarthy had it right immediately after January 6th when he said he would ask Trump to resign.

Republicans can only win because of the electoral vote. Most vote for democrats and that's why they win the popular vote. If you want a maga party then start a third party.

But aren't Republicans totally convinced they will win in Nov. by running on the theme that the 2020 presidential election was rigged on fraud and to get passed a national law or constitutional amendment that bans all abortions? That is most definitely how Oklahoma Republicans feel how they will have it won. They are campaigning against legalizing marijuana at the federal level as well.

For starters as to the reason why you're so WRONG, those people on the right in my small rural town quite recently spoke at a school board meeting opposed to allowing some books in the school libraries. But lots of Republicans in Red States will try outlawing contraception or birth control at least to some extent. They may very well be willing to compromise by continuing to make it only legal to married women. Many faithful married women won't be opposed to it, since it may work to discourage single women from trying to seduce their husbands into having sexual intercourse. Such a ban combined with banning abortion will appeal to a lot of faithful married women as well.
