My country. Both political parties are corrupt beyond redemption IMO.

The rise of political parties and partisanship is one of the worst things to happen to this country.

Take it away George:

"One of the expedients of Party to acquire influence, within particular districts, is to misrepresent the opinions & aims of other Districts."

"The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge natural to party dissention, which in different ages & countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism."

"[The spirit of Party] serves always to distract the Public Councils and enfeeble the Public Administration. It agitates the Community with ill founded Jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot & insurrection. It opens the door to foreign influence & corruption, which find a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels of party passions."

Trump, Nixon, Johnson, Bush, Clinton, all have contributed to the notion that party politics is a very dirty business. And, by extension, anyone who follows the party line will be contributing to that political filth. Both parties are locked in a power struggle that is completely independent of the real mission of the Senate and House, and that would be to further the betterment of the majority.

It's obvious, American party politics is meant to be a distraction that prevents its actual task (governing) from being accomplished. And in that realization, those who can see the truth have been walking away from the party BS that keeps the real rulers in power, and ensures the elected nitwits will remain in servitude to that cabal of special interests.

Way to fall into the partisan trap and miss the point.

As I write this:

Country - 29
Party - 1

I'm surprised only 1 Democrat has responded. Maybe they're all down at the state unemployment office picking up there checks.

Yep, it's all about that power struggle of being able to dominate the other party rather than compromise for the common good.

It's not a partisan trap. Dems clearly value party over country.
