How is taxing an illegal enterprise even legal anyways?

The proceeds of crime are taxable, and have been forever. Al Capone went to prison for tax evasion, not for being a crime lord. It is often far easier to prove the tax evasion than the other crimes, and prosecutors go for the offenses they can prove beyond a reasonable doubt. This is especially true in larger criminal enterprises, where the leaders never touch the drugs or do any of the enforcing, but end up with the money.

But that's not the point.

The point is that Democrats have denied for years, in one discussion after the next about taxation that it's enforced by the threat of violence/death.
They will if they have reason to believe you murdered someone but don't have enough evidence to put in front of a judge to support probable cause.

Change your avatar. "Mayberry" is "Mount Airy", NC. NO ONE there thinks like you do. The classic, nostalgic America like Mayberry reflects small, conservative towns. There are no trannies, CRT, people say the pledge, and respect the Constitution. I have a few farms near a town just like "Mayberry"- there are no liberals in the town and they are happy and prosperous!
I like my avatar, and actually I DO reflect the conservative values of the 50s. It's the wack a doodles that have taken over the conservative party that do not. But thank you for that little lesson.

I do not deny that it happens, but I do not think it is truly common place.

I have known a lot of small business people, who seem to think that if they file taxes it will invite IRS thugs to send them to prison, so they try to avoid filing taxes. Eventually the IRS will catch on and suddenly they owe $20k in back taxes. This is far more common, then your suggested scenario with crooks.
I am not fighting with you, I do not mean any insult here. You may need therapy.
Actually, my mind is sound, but thank you for your concern. I've been watching the Republican party use propaganda and fear-mongering since the 60s, and if my Republican father were still alive, he would be ashamed of ever supporting such a group of people that have given up what they know to be true about their fellow Americans for whatever the Party stands for now.

As a combat vet, I have been very active within the VFW.

A lot of us combat vets need each other to monitor how 'balanced' we are. So I am in the habit of tactfully suggesting when they need their meds.

I have no idea what the Repubs think their party stands for. I have Dem friends though who openly preach the NAZI platform from 1930, one of them is currently campaigning for our state legislature [and over 90% of his campaign is purely NAZI platform. The only part of the NAZI platform that he is not pushing for is the annexing of Austria part]. It would not surprise me if he gets elected. He has the full backing and support of the Dem party. $$$

I am saying that conservatives are more likely to work than democrats and thus have income and assets, which is what the IRS wants.

Democrats ALWAYS use the IRS as a weapon against conservatives, regardless of how compliant they are with their taxes.

As a dem, you should not even breathe a word about tax cheats and corruption, as the democrat party pretty much has the market cornered in that department.

What a bunch of BS. The democrats have moved so far left that they are now communists/socialists.

Republicans have, if anything, become MORE LIBERAL, during that time, not more conservative.

CRT, tranny indoctrination, gay marriage, open borders, "sanctuary cities", the welfare state, destruction of the traditional two parent family, attacks on Christianity, attacks on white males, assaults on free speech, and two generations that hate their own country. We have politicians who are now openly socialists.

Only a blind man would say that the nation as become more conservative! You no more represent 1950s conservative values than any of your marxist friends and far left views. Your views are diametrically opposed to the life depicted in "The Andy Griffith Show"- you just can't admit to yourself that your views have resulted in the above problems with the US and the destruction of the 1950s type of life depicted in "Mayberry".

Restaurants, sport fishing boats, all of these "Vendors" at the beach and swap meets. Areas with a population of illegals. These are all cash and carry areas and they aren't even bothering about being open about it.

Put down the Lemonade, put your hands on your head and slowly step away from the stand without making any sudden movements.

As I said before, thank you for your concern. I'm not a vet, but I know from my vet family and friends that caring people like yourself are doing a lot of good.

As for the Nazi the Dems are supporting, I'm not surprised, but here's the thing about Dems: they are all nuts. They sold their souls to the banks years ago, and they will jump through any hoop now that they think will get them elected. Without their traditional platform of working for the people, they are just rudderless. They cannot organize because they are all over the map in their stupid little projects.

On the other hand, the Republicans are highly organized, and have been since the 60s, when the Civil Rights movement knocked the political wind from their sails and they could no longer stand on their racist platform. So, they joined up with wealthy individuals and corporations and eventually formed the organization ALEC, where they systematically started writing legislation and supporting politicians to carry it into law. That was in '73. Since then, with professional "spin" artists, huge levels of funding for controlling sympathetic news sources and paid advertising, they've been able to shape a narrative that looks and sounds like the truth, with their nasty little messages tucked inside. They play on a supposed platform of helping the people, though somehow they never seem to quite succeed in that effort. It was never their plan. So, to keep the people interested in them, they say the Democrats are why they never deliver. Circular, but that's what's happening.

It's a vicious game they excel at, and the two parties (one inept and the other ruthless), here we are -- spectators to the new sport in America: politics.

Personally, I've never cared for sports, and I know that we are losing our democracy, not at the hands of either party, but because our citizens don't care enough about preserving their rights as voters to actually inform themselves of what their elected officials are doing and demand the representation they deserve. Instead, they accept as gospel any news that makes them feel good, and jump on the wagon of the "good" party of their choosing and it's "off to the arena."

Back to THIS post. Normal citizens would be happy to have the IRS collect taxes from people that are avoiding taxes, because tax revenues are what keep programs that benefit Americans. Instead, thanks to 40+ years of political gamesmanship, it is just another reason to throw crap at the opposing team. Which is what is happening here. Much ado about nothing.
