It’s only a thing because of the words those Republicans are using about the student debt forgiveness…

The money was isntended to be for payroll but little was done to ensure that is how the money was spent.

And it is the same with student loans. The money is meant to be used to get a degree and like the PPP the loans aren't always vetted to make sure they were used for the right purpose.

But in both cases the loans were 100% or partially forgiven.

I agree with you. No one should receive loan forgiveness, republicans, democrats, students, etc. shame on those republicans (and democrats and students) for shaking down the taxpayers. Man, I do not have a place in this country anymore. The establishment left and right are out of control and the progressives are trying to tear everything down. Meanwhile the average person working hard and paying taxes gets taken. I’m tired of all of it. We need a better version of Trump to shake things up. The establishment must be changed. The corruption must end.

MTG received $183,504 in PPP loan forgiveness. Please explain why its ok if she is forgiven but not a student. Why should the taxpayers pay for MTG's 183k loan?
What hypocrisy?

It was our own government that was forcing businesses to shutter their doors, forced citizens, their customers, to stay at home.

It was government whose actions directly caused businesses to go bankrupt and not have the money to pay employee salaries.

It was government the passed the PPP loan program to give money to employers to pay employees and keep their businesses from going under and causing tens of millions of lost jobs. PPP was government trying to prevent a total collapse of society.

It was government that passed the PPP laon forginess bill.

How and when to apply for loan forgiveness

A borrower can apply for forgiveness once all loan proceeds for which the borrower is requesting forgiveness have been used. Borrowers can apply for forgiveness any time up to the maturity date of the loan. If borrowers do not apply for forgiveness within 10 months after the last day of the covered period, then PPP loan payments are no longer deferred, and borrowers will begin making loan payments to their PPP lender.

Contrast this to a citizen who voluntarily decided to attend college, and instead of saving up the money first, decided to take out a student loan to borrow the money, with a loan payment plan.

PPP

An SBA-backed loan that helps businesses keep their workforce employed during the COVID-19 crisis.

We need someone who sees the govt. money as tax payer money to be spent carefully and with much thought. Neither party does that.

Congress wrote the Act for PPP loans and the president signed it, that's how it works. Biden is trying to do the same, but skip Congress and do it with just his pen and his phone. Biden does not have that kind of authority to bypass Congress; he's not king

The PPP comparison is for low-IQ and/or low-information people.

#1 Uofront the PPP loans were made with the understanding that they'd be forgiven by the government, because the government was shutting down your business, but the government wanted you to keep paying your employees with money you wouldn't have due to the shutdown.

College loans were made upfront knowing you'd have to pay it back.

#2 because Biden presides over a banana republic confidential information of Republicans is leaked on PPP, not Democrats and the propagandists and sheep baah it up.

PPP loan forgiveness is an act of Congress. Constitutionally legal even though it was government (mostly in Blue states) that unnecessarily forced shutdowns that put people out of work in the first place. The executive order on student loan forgiveness is very likely unconstitutional. Even Pelosi said the President doesn't have that authority last year

As crazy as it is this administration is claiming that the President can do this under the Heroes Act of 2003. Bunch of clowns

https://www.congress.gov/bill/108th-...ouse-bill/1538

Why doesn't Congress and the President actually address the problem with skyrocketing tuition costs instead of playing these silly games?
