Which is understandable, I suppose, as Independents would demand an actual platform of policies, something the GOP decided was no longer necessary. Because their entire platform consists of four words: Whatever Donald Trump Wants. That's it, that's their entire platform. They literally have nothing else they aspire towards. Nothing. And no Independents are going to go for that.

It's funny that she assumes Trump is growing the party.
Well, I have no respect for Marjorie Taylor Greene. I would never support a conspiracy-theory supporting person like MTG.

But she is an idiot, generally, as are many posters here.
What makes me wonder are some of those who support her. I'm thinking "how can someone support MTG, unless they are just like her".

She is playing to the furthest right fringes of her party.

She is trash but will always be elected as her outrageous crazy is popular with the party base.

Exactly why the US needs ranked choice voting with a 5 pass open primary, to neutralize the crazies in both parties. It will never happen of course as the parties will make sure that nothing threatens their money train.

You lefties love her almost as much as you love Trump and I'm not being ironic. You have taken defects and controversial anecdotes from a single junior congress-person and are working diligently to make her the touchstone for the GOP. She's not even as outlandish as Maxine Waters and she's certainly less influential. She's a third standard deviation Republican legislator but you'd like to make her into some dangerous fascist boogeyman. I'm a Republican and I know as much about her as I do about Qanon and every bit of it I learned from you. Pretty telling because by definition the information I get from you people is on a par with what comes out of the mouths of carnival barkers.

And many of us don't want to be a part of the GOP either, but until there is a viable third party that actually has a chance, I'm stuck.

Isn't this kind of a moot point, since Independents are well,..., Independent?

But they typically vote one way or the other in general elections. And they typically are the votes that tip an election one way or another. It's incredibly shortsighted to dismiss them as unimportant or not necessary to your party. Most elections turn on how they break.

Indeed. Scaring away the independent ones isn't a smart political strategy.

Well I know who she is. I used to live in Georgia, so I know all about her.

I wouldn't want to be at or in any party that included MTG, so no big deal. Dumb as a box o' rocks is not a good look.
