The Left has become soft on crime to the point that in some cities you can shoplift up to $900 per day and not get arrested.

We also have MILLIONS of people that willingly broke our Immigration Laws and they are being handed everything they need to set themselves up in this their new country.

These criminals are being given handouts so why not non criminals that just want their debt erased?

If people are not held responsible for their criminal behavior then why should they pay back their loan?

The thing is when does all this end?

If Biden pays off the student loans from yesterday what about the students that are about to graduate?

Spot on !

surely with corporations being mandated to hire protected species, her job outlook is positive.

If she works for a university, doesn't that U allow her children to attend college for free. Many colleges allow children of employees to attend for free. Pick one and work there.

Story sounds contrived or this person needs counseling in both finances and life.

Another story of CA doing so well financially and somehow, no one can afford to live there.
Don't encourage that. Better to isolate that ignorance in one state than spread it around.

Working in schools like she does, she would have been eligible for PSLF which requires 10 years of payments and then they forgive the rest of the loan amount with no tax implication for the borrower. She HAS her forgiveness already but yes, it required her to have some skin in the game. This program has been around for years and recently, with the COVID bill, they made it even easier to get. It's very purpose was the idea if you give back to your country, community, etc with service, you get loan forgiveness. Not as generous as the GI Bill nor should it be but definitely a huge benefit she is offered. But nope, she wants it all forgiven. Yeah, no. No sympathy from me.

Maybe she'd have more money to pay her loans if she had a husband to help.

I guess single-mom gurl power virtue signaling is more important.

The lady in this case appeared to take out additional loans on top of the original loans, in order to stop payment as a form of protest? Whatever that means.

I would not be surprised if she used some of that money to fund her personal expenses and lifestyle all those years and now wants to be forgiven of all of it. Ludicrous beyond words.

How in the hell can a kid think they want to be an anesthesiologist?

You first have to get through pre-med and then med school. Why the attraction of specifically anesthesia for someone who is not even in med school?

Also, like always, students should do a market analysis of their earning potential and the job market before taking loans for a certain degree. If the job will not allow you to repay the loans, you should choose another degree/career.

Democrats have made their party based on giving away freebies, transferring wealth from those who work to those who do not. Meanwhile, they use thier political positions to enrich themselves by insider trading and "pay for play" politics.

She racked up $200K+ of debt and isn’t a dentist or a doctor, that man dodged a bullet.

Along with pairing their intelligence level to whatever major and career path they choose.
