The good news about Europe is this: my wife recently travelled to Europe...Vienna Austria, Budapest Hungary, & Prague Czech Republic, and all 3 cities were stunningly beautiful, clean, & safe.
All 3 have been revitalized after communist occupation ended, & they cherish their newfound freedoms, & have great pride in their cities/countries again. Here's an image of Liberty Square in Budapest to see for yourself...& the statue there of Ronald Reagan:
My wife said all 3 cities looked 100X nicer than America's major cities, such as; NYC, San Fran, Philly, DC, Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, LA.
I can't speak for all of Europe, but these cities are nicer than ANY of ours. Our ship has sunk, as compared to these great European cities!
The good news is that europe will still be around in the spring.
Despite what another poster is claiming, I would still buy the plane tickets and plan for it to be there.
It's good news that we haven't had a major hurricane yet this year.
Quite true, and living in SW Florida, I'm very grateful for that. Also, the oil industry appreciates it too because our prices at the pump would skyrocket if the energy infrastructure in the Gulf were to take a hit.
Do you all see how some of the best news is never talked about?
5 million mexician coming across the border to make your work load lighter
The good news about that is 81% of them are likely future Republican voters, based upon recent polling of Hispanic approval of Biden...just 19% approve:
I can't speak for all of Europe, but these cities are nicer than ANY of ours. Our ship has sunk, as compared to these great European cities!
The good news is, many of us do not have to live in any of America's failing cities, & people are fleeing them in droves to live happier lives elsewhere.
My post wasn't intended to bash Europe. It isn't necessarily Europe's fault. I actually blame the United States.... Regardless, as Macron explains, the days of abundance are over. The whole world is changing, and we will never go back.
For one very obvious one, Europe will not fall into oblivion this winter. The EU won't survive this winter, and its collapse will affect the entire world.
Britain has already left the EU. German industry subsidized by Russian gas is what powered the entire union. There is no EU without Germany. If you have time, watch this...
The Imf calculated the potential effects of a complete and immediate stop of Russian gas supplies on the economies in the Eurozone. The study show that over the next 12 months, the European Union would lose 1.8 percentage points of GDP growth compared to the baseline scenario. The most affected countries would lose between two and more than four percentage points. That is not total economic failure.
It's not about the lack of Russian gas. It's that the alternative to Russia gas costs 4x as much, and the cheap Russian gas will be diverted to China instead.
A lot of people have pointed out how the German delegation laughed at Trump when he told them to get off Russian gas. The alternative to Russian gas was paying 4x as much for American LNG. Germany did everything it could to stop this war, but America dragged it in, kicking and screaming.
