Sometimes you have to adjust to uncomfortable situations and hopefully over time you can relax and accept them. No doubt those who object would rather transwomen use the men's room, but they are surely much safer in the women's room.
It's not uncomfortable - it's a safety concern.

A woman who encounters a man in a woman's public bathroom, has every right to feel unsafe. I would venture to say most women would feel unsafe if a male entered a bathroom - especially if they were the only two people in there.

There's typically one way in, and one way out. It can be, and feel like, a very threatening situation.

The hate and bigotry on this thread is epic even for P&C.

Because it is so important for people who never met or even seen a transgender person in real life - since most you would have no idea they are trans anyway.

But it is the most important thing in the world to stop them from GOING TO THE BATHROOM. Because OMG, we can't have people who don't conform to your personal belief system going potty.

Oh - and FAR MORE preachers, teachers, cops, coaches, priests and politicians have raped, killed and molested women and children than trans women, ever. So shut up until you solve that problem first.

You could have stopped right there because that is the heart of the matter. Women's Lib, NOW, Curves, women's athletic directors, etc.

Since the 1980's at least. In that time frame I was told I had to remove the signed photograph on my wall from the Makita Power Tool Girls because it "made women uncomfortable" (even though no one complained about it) and it "created a hostile work environment". Really? A beautiful, fully clothed woman, holding a drill did that?

Because I manage people I am required by law to re-certify every two years on sexual harassment and hostile work environment issues.

So quick, what do you think creates more of a hostile work environment, a naked man in the women's locker room at the company gym or saying, "your hair looks nice today". A picture has to be removed because it MIGHT make a woman uncomfortable, but a woman forced to be with a naked man in a locker room is told, "get over it"?

It sounds so simple. The Republicans need to create ads reaching out to women that tell women we stand with them and we will work to protect them them and their rights to be safe.

This is not a hypothetical or theoretical exercise. We have documented cases in California where so called trans women have sexually assaulted women in what were formerly woman only facilities.

They scream how woman make less money than a man. That women are relegated to the kitchens barefoot and pregnant. That women are second class citizens and many of the complaints that are justified go on and on but when it comes to a biological man hanging out in the Ladies restroom, a place where women could traditionally go to get away from men if only for a few minutes is now being invaded and the women are being told to shut up... This is so wrong.

Where are the Women that fought so hard for Equality yet when it comes to bathrooms they are taking a seat...?
These left activists seem oddly quiet (the feministas) as men take over their domain.

FWIW I only use bathrooms that are not "woke".

Oh stop.

No one is going to bother a biological male who looks like a woman from peeing in the girl's room.

The problem is when a full on male walks into a women's bathroom and says my name is Tina but look at my dangly bits. That's a literal nutcase who shouldn't be a woman's bathroom.

A person who looks like a woman is not going to make women feel afraid, got it?

A person who has undergone surgery and no longer has a penis, is not going to make women feel afraid, got it?

An system of laws where any man with a penis can throw on a wig, or not even bother with that and just declare "I'm a transwoman," and gain access to women's locker rooms and showers, women's changing areas, bathrooms, or women's prison cells, is going to make women feel afraid, got it?

So much for your knee-jerk "hate and bigotry."

Where is the hate and bigotry ? Men shouldn't be in women's bathrooms, period. Want that, change them all to unisex or single use unisex.

It really isn't that complex.

Oh, and the Republicans need to create ads reaching out to parents that assure them we stand with them and their daughters and we will work to protect their daughters, their rights to be safe and opportunities for them in athletics, athletic scholarships and the workplace.

A transwoman is not going to rape anyone. Certainly not if they are taking drugs to suppress testosterone and taking estrogen to soften physical features.

But if you see a pervert with a 5 o'clock shadow or beard in a poorly fitting dress and wig, call the cops.

Learn the difference.
