Almost all of those same people would deny that a fertilized egg is the same thing as a living human being reading a magazine on the bus.
Is a 12-hours-old baby, with no motor skills, no language skills, can't see, walk or feed him or herself ... the same as an obese 84-year-old with diabetes, who on dialysis, with one leg amputated and a double mastectomy from breast cancer?
Do I really have to put up the statistics again on the high percentage of Americans that support legal abortion during this period? I will if I have too.

I support abortion rights in the first trimester but fully understand that it is the taking of a human life because that is the reality of what an abortion is. Pretending otherwise is just that, make believe.

They would likely agree that a fertilized egg is a human life at the earliest stage. What the heck does reading a magazine on the bus have to do with being a human being?

They are and both of them reached fetal viability and had a live birth. Its where most of us draw the line.
