Are you serious? There are tons of examples, here's one: People who go out in public and protest for student loan forgiveness. If you had told me when I was in my twenties that in the future people would not only openly admit that they're deadbeats, but demand that the government support their shocking levels of entitlement, I would have laughed in your face. We live in a clown world. It's not sustainable and I feel very sorry for today's young people. The average person's future is very bleak.

I thought this, too - my grandfather was a coal miner, a profession where unions revolutionized the safety of mining. Fine, all those safety measures are law now. But laws don't prevent mine operators or any other employers from violating the laws. That's why we still need unions.

A great illustration on why we still need unions. Thanks for sharing.

That's for domestic law enforcement issues. It has nothing to do with preventing a foreign invasion of the US.

In 2021 - 14 Million people were in Unions - Private and Public.

Essentially the Public Sector Unions — Local, State, Federal are Unionized against the US Taxpayers that pay thrir Salary, Benefits and Pensions. The largest percentage is the Local Sector.

I don’t believe in a Federal Holiday for 14 Million people out of 350 Million People — particularly when I am forced to Pay for their Holiday
Slightly less than half of California's 2.5 million union members (2018) are government employees: 1.15 million.

1.15 million government employees unionized against the California taxpayer, as you said WRT US taxpayers.

A large number of those people are plain incompetent and would not last a week in the private sector, yet the public is forced to carry them on their backs like millstones.

Public sector unions have no right to exist. They should be eliminated. There needs to be real competition.

And find me one union leader or organizer who doesn't sound like a Marxist. Just one.

I think the point he was trying to make, the DoD IN ADDITION to the current Border Patrol...!

I'm talking about repelling a foreign invasion. I find it hard to believe that any country or countries can amass millions of invaders at any of our borders, land or sea, and our DoD can't do anything to prevent that invasion. We don't have a country at all if that's true.

Note he did NOT state WHEN this happened.

Many complain about the cost of living going up all the time.

1 of the BIGGEST reasons is unions.

Did you know that some BIG unions have a clause that states if the Cost of Living is RAISED, the union members AUTOMATICALLY get a raise?

And I WAS a former union member and I can tell stories all day on how the union causes a rising CoL.

Here is just a couple examples.

I was working in a new commercial building being built. We had a big rain and the basement flooded and the water had to be pumped out.

Now at home 1 person can connect and operate a sump pump. I know, I had one.

On a union job, it takes a plumber, an electrician, sometimes a mechanic, etc. and a foremen to oversee the work.

ALL have to STAY AND WATCH THE PUMP WORK, even though it will cut off automatically when the water gets low enough.

The pump is so loud it can heard 3 floors up so watching it is not needed.

When painting rollers came out, painters werr NOT allowed to us tehm. They still had to paint using a brush.

Eventually rollers were allowed, BUT could only be the 6 inch ones.

Try to fire a union member!

Nah, rich people nowadays are committing suicide once they make a mistake. See below.

Give me an example of a second chance within the last generation.

Or they do something sleezy and borderline illegal, or at best, something morally questionable. Examples, respectively, include Bernie Madoff and his ponzi scheme, or Zuckerberg stealing the idea, then getting his vampire squid uncle to do the rest.

Also our policies are out of whack for the longest time especially in the financial sector. That is thanks to those in the financial industry influencing our politicians into giving them out of whack advantages over everyone else.

If there is a true meritocracy, then no bailouts for the banks back in late 2000s. Everyone gets prosecuted, no leniency. You made a bad bet, you lose, whether it be your job or your house or your reputation, or your freedom

What we have now is socialism for the rich, and dog eat dog for everyone else. The GFC bailouts is proof of that.
"LOLz are you scolding me? NO.

For what? I am only stating the obvious." You are only stating YOUR opinion.

"But since you seem to be scolding me". If you feel you earned it, so be it.

" Its mostly all inherited," Back it up.

I hope you like the taste of crow!

"Did Millionaires Inherit Their Wealth? Just how deep does the myth that millionaires’ wealth simply fell into their laps go? We found out that 74% of millennials believe millionaires inherited their money and more than half (52%) of baby boomers think the same thing.1
But our study of millionaires blows that theory out of the water. Here are the facts:
  • Only 21% of millionaires received any inheritance at all.
  • Just 16% inherited more than $100,000.
  • And get this: Only 3% received an inheritance at or above $1 million!2
Think about that: Most folks believe millionaires simply inherited their wealth, but the vast majority of millionaires didn’t get any inheritance at all—and those who did certainly didn’t get enough to make them millionaires!"

It never cease to amaze me how so many on here make claims that can easily be looked up and debunk what they THINK!

I guess they don't mind being embarrassed!

Then again, they DO use places like cnbc as their "trusted" source!
