Then there was the whole push to ban Harry Potter books because JK Rowlings views. (Hey look cancel culture)

You seem to throw the term fascism around at those you disagree with while turning a blind eye or making excuses in other cases.

Citing "changing societal conditions" is basically saying that you can ban or restrict things because you have different views (which are of course the correct ones in all cases) than others did or still do....but in your case you're being the good guy and everyone else is the fascist.
Let's not exaggerate. California did not ban To Kill a Mockingbird. The Burbank Unified School District removed it and several other novels from whole class instruction, but they are still available through the library.

10 arrested after Menifee home-invasion robbery; illegal pot grow found in targeted house
Ten people were arrested — including two people whose house was broken into — after Menifee police sorted out a home-invasion robbery.

Officers responding to a report of a burglary about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, in the 26300 block of Bailey Court arrived to find a man leaving a residence that had damage, apparently from a break-in, a Police Department news release said.
