No the assertion was "the last great display of pomp & circumstance", yes the events will continue to occur but I don't think the national turnout by their nation will measure up to what we have seen over the last week. But its their country so they will decide how the Monarchy moves going forward....
If King Charles can fill his job and put his personal opinions aside you might be proved wrong. I hope you are.

This really was the last great display of pomp & circumstance that I think most of us will see in our lifetime.
Comes down to what someone considers to be a "great display of pomp & circumstance" vs not. And not again for 'most of us' in our lifetime? Bold prediction.
I suspect within the next 25+ years, there will be at least one or not more great displays of pomp & circumstance put on by the British monarchy. I also bet lots of people who saw QEII's funeral will be alive to see the next "great display of pomp & circumstance."

Just imagine what King Trump has in store for his final destiny. You know he has to be one up on everything.

Until then nah!
We already do invest, the UK has a very generous foreign aid, of around £14 Billion a year, and provides emergency support and medical aid to countries hit by hurricanes, disease or tragedy.
The Monarchy barely cost the UK tax payer £102.4 million or £1.29.
The Official Royal Palaces belong to the Nation, and are paid for through the Crown Estate which in independent of the Monarch and the Government.
The Crown Jewels also belong to the nation, whilst those soldiers you see in ceremonial events are the same soldiers who fought and supported US forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The planes the Queen uses belong to the RAF, and are shared with politicians, and do not belong to the Queen.
The cost of US Air Force One exceeds the cost of the British Royals, whilst the White House costs over $1.4 Billion to run.
Britain is quite happy with the Royals, and looking at William and Kate, as well as their delightful children George and Charlotte who all attended the Queens funeral, the future of the Royal family looks extremely good, whilst Charles at nearly 74 will be a good stop-gap Monarch, and his recent speeches have went down well with the country.

He was, in his typical pettier-than-thou fashion, criticizing Biden for being seated so far back in the church, as if that's some indication of the U.S. rank. He claims if he was still prez, he'd have been sitting much farther forward.

As though he, being the representative of a nation NOT still a member of the Commonwealth since 1775 and therefore having relinquished all sovereignty association/affiliation, would have any say in being seated with immediate family members or rather be further back with the rest of the herd of NON members.

Something else that would have rubbed his butt biggly, were he still in any measure relevent:
Must suck to live life thinking that every single thing may be 'racist.' Even worse is deliberately lying, making things up, and misrepresenting things in order to fabricate claims of 'racism.'
Footage of Charles greeting and shaking other black people's hands exists, so this particular incident was way blown out of proportion (he didn't deliberately snub the guy as shown by him acknowledging him after).

Total nonsense, the King placed his hand on top of the black man's hand.
The King's charities have helped numerous black people and he has even spoken out against racism and even Government policy before.
It's worth noting that the King shook countless hands of all creed, colours and nationalities since his mother died, and that this was a very upsetting and emotional time in his life, and most people are retired at nearly 74 and not carrying out a gruelling schedule of visits and events.
