If Black lives actually mattered, then BLM and liberals/democrats would be talking about this and trying to find solutions, but they won't. They'll be silent as usual.
Normal people get it. I talked to someone the other day from Montgomery Co. (adjacent to Prince's George's Co) who understands that we are killing ourselves.
It never seems to get to the government level or the community leadership level.
I'm not sure that a teen curfew equates to martial law. But it is sad that they have to do this although it's certainly not unprecedented.
The County in question, Prince George's, has implemented teen curfews off and on for the last couple decades.
Were they effective? Not really.
It also should be noted that in almost all cases the "teens" involved are 18/19, so legally adults. That wasn't true of the recent 7-11 shooting, the victim was 15, but in most cases the ages are higher.
It's great that they are trying to do something. A young teen has no business being out roaming the streets late at night. All they are doing is looking for trouble.
A bigger question will be whether the police will be allowed to enforce it. If they happen to approach a young black kid who is out passed the curfew and simply ask for ID to prove their age, you know what can of worms that will open up and the cries of racism it will lead to.

That's only if the police treat the non-black kids differently. Folks don't seem to understand that the police can act very aggressively in addressing youths. And many young men are very argumentative so heated situations ensue.
