The decision was, in fact, all about state's rights (actually about states' powers).
Graham didn't get several memos including why keep the issue of abortion in headlines before the critical midterm elections. It was going to be an issue falling back a little bit. Now it's right back to the front of the line.
And yes the court did throw it back to the states. States rights victory. So what does Graham do push a federal law.
His timing stinks and will keep the left/liberals energized through the midterms. And early voting will start with in a month with this bill and issue in the headlines.
What was his strategic thinking bringing the issue and bill up now.
A huge gift to Democrats. Even Mitch McConnell looked a bit taken aback by the timing.
Exactly. Why bring up an emotionally supercharged issue now. Why did Graham feel the need to bring it up that issue now? Republicans acting from emotion usually does not end well.
So can we stop the talk that Republicans want this to be a state by state decision? They don't. They are horrified by the thought of women in the free states making their own decisions. Abortion, social security, marriage choice and contraception. Believe them when they tell you what they are. Remember in November, a vote for a Republican on any level is a vote to turn control of a woman's body over to the government. And that is just the beginning.
