I be curious what happens if a government mandates every buildings temperatures be kept between 68 or 20c to 78 or 25c year round? Sold, rented, office, warehouse, factory, etc?

I do hope the government would subsidize the means to make it happen.

And Hopefully it would not be used as an excuse for them to get child or adult protective services involved.

I also hope that the energy crisis in Europe doesn't cause them to go more into control measures. I was curious some places are limiting temperatures to 66f i.e Switzerland also have to change rules on landlord responsibility to provide heat.

The poster probably asking about Government not letting you turn on the heat, instead of ordinances making landlords answer to tenants who want the heat turned on. I am sure if no one complains the government would not bother landlords. And even with complaints to tenant protection tenants say it still an uphill battle to get a noncooporative landlord to comply.

As another poster mentioned in CA it used to be that consumer power rates were strictly capped at $0.13 a kwh until 2001 for any utility provider in the state. But bankruptcy due to wholesale rates rising for the big three utility companies following 1996 deregulation seem to have caused the PUC to greatly relax the price ceiling and bend over for approval whenever these big three companies wants to raise their rates to avoid another 2001.

If you rent in Fl they will tell you because of mold etc, you must run your AC. If the grid is going to blow because of over use, makes sense to leave it higher so all can breathe instead of being selfish and arrogant where eventually it stops cooling and all suffer.
Common sense people!!

In any case it's usually women who complain the most if the temperature isn't exactly perfect for them. Then again it's the men who will whine when thermostat is set to suck too much energy that increases how much they have to pay. So who's really the conservationists here?
are you talking about Texas Republicans and their votes ?????

Not in my private abode. In workplaces, warehouses and the like, there should be regulations about cooling and heating for the employees safety though. Actually there shouldn't HAVE to be but...
