If someone comes to you and says "hey, want to take a plane/bus to <location>" and you're like "sure". Is that illegal? If the answer is no, then that's exactly what happened with the illegal aliens (no, they're not migrants. They are illegal aliens).
How about if the FL state legislature passes a budget specifically stating in plain English a 5 year old could understand or at least read that $12 million dollars of FL tax dollars can be spent to remove illegal immigrants from FL to sanctuary states and someone uses that money to move illegal immigrants from TX to a sanctuary state?
If not for these governors taking charge, this problem would continue to be ignored. I applaud them. But because sanctuary cities and states are hypocrites and liars, they're whining. MV couldn't wait to get the brown people out of there.
As an independent voter, seeing the devolved unrecognizable democrat authoritarian party now, I will never vote for another democrat.

If , as Desantis claims, they were going to be sent to FL and he simply had them rerouted straight to MA, probably not. In any case, that would be a decision for FL people to ask and investigate if desired.
He specifically answered that it wasn't. Thats his point. Wasn't right for the SCOTUS's, shouldn't be right for the VP.
The difference is though that judges live in their own personal homes without security personnel . The VP lives in a government mansion with Secret Service protection. And probably naval as well,since its on a navy site.

The huddled masses that came through Ellis Island were screened and sent back if they were sick or deemed otherwise unsuitable.
In addition, the "huddled masses" did not expect government assistance. There was some limited charitable assistance available from groups such as the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society and the like, but most of that was in the form of jobs and English-language instruction, and very little in the form of material aid.

I agree about protests. But doesn't she welcome her new neighbors? They just want to live, not protest. And they quite properly felt she would welcome them, even into her house.
It will be solved when we deport them en masse. Go to the hospital without papers - detained, deported. Get pulled over without papers - detained, deported. Cross illegally then claim asylum - mandatory detainment until your asylum claim is validated by a judge. Guidelines will be strict - no BS asylum claims like now. And they don’t get to be free until their asylum claim is heard. They don’t like it? Well, they can leave detainment with a flight home, fingerprinted and barred from entry into the USA again.
These simple steps will clean up our illegal immigration problem in a few weeks. But Democrats and other useful idiots don’t want that, and make claiming asylum easier and deportation harder. So F them, have some illegals and enjoy!
Your solution does not even identify all the related issues. It's doomed to failure before you even get started.
Beyond which you will never get the majority of Americans to agree to break up families that have been here for decades where the children are American citizens. Especially when so many of those families are hard working people who contribute substantially to the quality of American life. Fail again.
