Thanks to 'Beach43forus' and 'TheFirst', for giving the idea to start a thread about how Independents plan to vote!

Independents, what are the top issues that will help you decide how to vote in November? Do you plan to split your ticket? Are you leaning towards one party Federally, and another party locally? What is your thought process?

I am waiting for the sample ballot to come out to make final decisions on the smaller races but for the higher profile at the moment I am planning on voting a very mixed ticket, including one Republican, one Democrat and one write in. I also want to take a serious look at third party candidates this time around. Economy, taxes, abortion rights, climate, national debt are top level issues.

I’ve been an independent for years and will be voting straight red. I was a Democrat before I was an Independent and still leaned more left, until covid….

I wish everyone would just vote independent across the board and see what happens. Lol
Blue & red both suck. Bigly.

The economy.

Especially since inflation has gone up and STAYED UP and the "inflation reduction act" was just more spending.

This after being told there was no inflation, then that it was temporary. The administration lost about a year making excuses before acting on this major issue. They even had toadies saying inflation was good for poor people.

Now they tout the CHANGE in inflation with the hopes of misleading people into thinking that a 0.1% change is actually the new inflation rate and being equally dishonest and obscuring in their press releases claiming inflation is coming down.

I know there is a whole bunch of distraction going on from both sides about social issues but that stuff isn't what is kicking people in the butt day in and day out.

My vote will be decided by the economy with gas prices and this "green energy" scam...errr push...at the fore, taxes firearms rights, education policy and curriculum border security and immigration policy crime and governments nose in my personal business. For starters.

The blues & MSM will try to scare everyone with the abortion thing, but…it’s easier to not get pregnant than to compete with inflation. I believe most people would tend to vote with their wallets. Greed/materialism usually beats everything else in the US.

Eh, we don't need no stinkin' poll!

If posters do not specifically state who they are voting for, which I did not ask for as deciding on individual candidates is a private matter, their answer will likely give it away, anyway...

That's really just as bad as people who vote for a person just because they have a (D) or (R) next to their name. The problem is that there are a lot of 3rd party "Independent" candidates that are more of a nut-job than the (D) or (R) choice.

Just vote for the people you think will be the best at the position.
