Will need someone to analyze the data. actually, a team of people. they also need administrative assistants, copy machines, computer equipment, an IT department, cleaning service, office space, business lunches, cell phones, state vehicles, concessions vendors, probably a reporting system to feed all the data into, people to program it, consultants. it’s okay, the taxpayer is an unlimited resource.

Wait until they see how much the Indians make.

"Hey, why is one Indian engineer making $150k and the other $60k for the same job?"
"The latter is an H-1B."
"Oops!"

What are they hoping to find with this? Are they going to dig up Discrimination? There is so much that goes into calculating someones pay and it could be as simple as a man demanding more at the interview Vs one willing to accept what they are offering because it is the going rate. Who knows but it seldom has anything to do with Race, in fact I would say that in this day and age of Equity the Black man has a leg up on the White man.

Pay is one thing but what about the Affirmative Action hires that got the job just for being a certain color?

It sounds like California is moving closer to Socialism. Can the guaranteed base salary be that far off?

The entire state of California is presently America's socialist capital. NYC is tied in 2nd place with Seattle and Portland. Our nation has a mixed economic system that fuses elements of capitalism and socialism together and it's been that way long before I was alive.

I cannot imagine a company is going to want to do this, as many have a rule that such things cannot be talked about between the employees. So, I see more companies leaving CA, which is good news for states they relocate to. At some point, Newsom may be sitting alone with the homeless and illegal aliens, and then who pays for his pipe dreams, those that I thought died with the hippies long ago. Yeah, I remember all the "change", the electric cars.................. It all evaporated.

Forbidding employees from discussing salaries is illegal in many states now, possibly most, and I would wager a lot that CA is one of them.
