This sounds much more like an uninhibited drunk than a truly political killing. The title makes it sound like a Democrat just up and ran over a Republican. It is obvious that politics played a role but I don't think that is the "reason" the driver killed the victim. If he sober, I don't think he runs over the kid.
I think alcohol had more to do with it than anything else.

$50,000 bail is really low for such a crime. But I suppose it's better than nothing like it is in some areas.
Intentionally mowing a guy down and killing him, while drunk, should carry a longer sentence than 10-20.
I thought the same thing. The A-hole was actually arguing against the 50,000. He thought it was too much. His ass should be in jail for well over a decade for murder. The kid is only 18 years old that’s just sick.
