America acts like we were the main recipient of the slave trade. In a 300 year period, America received 315k slaves or 3% of the entire slave trade. Most of those slaves that came to America were second hand slaves that came from the Carribean.
It's called "presentism". We hold our people in the past to the same standards and norms of today... As if those people in the past would actually care what we think about them today. It's also racist when people try to talk down on whites for slavery. Other races get very offended when they are judged based on the bad actions and behaviors of a few. It's called prejudice when the whole of the group is looked down upon through no fault of the individual experiencing the prejudice.
Don Lemon is pretty ignorant of what he was asking or proposing to that lady. I think these guys need to do their homework.
As a side note what is going on with the guy, he looks kind of bad, skinny, gaunt, looked like he's aged a bunch of years. I wonder if he's been sick or something. It's noticeable every time I see the guy.

Exactly, well its done on purpose. The left/globalists wants to create a fictitious story about what actually happened.
Also, 1% of people in the south owned slaves. It was basically the Mark Zuckerberg's and Jeff Bezos's of yesteryear who owned slaves. Someone needed to "work" at the Amazon warehouse, and thats where the slaves went. Notably, just about every joe shmoe who lived in the south never owned a slave.
Which racial group of people have never ever been enslaved? (Hint: none). In fact the word "slave" originates from "Slav".
Whites - yes
Blacks - yes
Asians - yes

The history of slavery spans many cultures, nationalities, and religions from ancient times to the present day. Likewise, its victims have come from many different ethnicities and religious groups. The social, economic, and legal positions of enslaved people have differed vastly in different systems of slavery in different times and places.[1]
Slavery was relatively rare in pre-civilisation hunter-gatherer populations,[2] as it develops under conditions of social stratification.[3] Slavery operated in the first civilizations (such as Sumer in Mesopotamia,[4] which dates back as far as 3500 BCE). Slavery features in the Mesopotamian Code of Hammurabi (c. 1750 BCE), which refers to it as an established institution.[5] Slavery was widespread in the ancient world. It was found in almost every ancient civilization, including the Roman Empire. It became less common throughout Europe during the Early Middle Ages, although it continued to be practised in some areas. Both Christians and Muslims captured and enslaved each other during centuries of warfare in the Mediterranean.[6] Islamic slavery encompassed mainly Western and Central Asia, Northern and Eastern Africa, India, and Europe from the 7th to the 20th century.
Britain and the US were the first to abolish international slave trade.
Quote:
Drescher (2009) provides a model for the history of the abolition of slavery, emphasizing its origins in Western Europe. Around the year 1500, slavery had virtually died out in Western Europe, but was a normal phenomenon practically everywhere else. The imperial powers – the British, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, and Belgian empires, and a few others – built worldwide empires based primarily on plantation agriculture using slaves imported from Africa. However, the powers took care to minimize the presence of slavery in their homelands. In 1807 Britain and soon after, the United States also, both criminalized the international slave trade. The Royal Navy was increasingly effective in intercepting slave ships, freeing the captives and taking the crew for trial in courts.
That commentator made the talking heads on CNN, MSNBC, The View and the writers of the NYT look like complete jackasses with their woke blathering and ignorance of history.
The fact that they raced each other to pile on the Queen and Great Britain just fed into the "Ugly American" stereotype.
Liberals can't handle the truth, so they invent their own. That was beautiful to behold, but I guarantee not one Donna Lemon fan will change their made-up mind about slavery after watching that.
That's why CD's lefties are avoiding this thread like the plague .

Yeah, this thread definitely gives the lefties diarrhea.
Bad enough that one of their queens, Donna Lemon, was eviscerated by a white woman on CNN.
Even worse that she said the quiet part out loud, and laid bare the truth that African blacks were "at the start of the supply chain" as far as slavery was concerned.
No word yet on whether Pete Bootyghey can actually fix THAT supply chain. I'm sure once he gets back from his next maternity leave, he will be all over it.
