Oh yeah, Trump did an A+ job. I'm sure the migrants coming across the border all agree with you too.

Doesn't cover all private sector employers but they will need to maintain Form I-9 on all their employees if they choose not to do E-Verify.

Now take a look at the states missing from that list:

California, NYS, Washington, Massachusetts, New Jersey.

You name it, the deep Democratic states. These are the states opposed to do anything about our illegal immigration problem because the Democratic party is against any and all reasonable restrictions on immigration.

Republicans may not do enough, but Democrats are far far worse.
I was addressing the issue of it not being able to detect fraudulent ID.

It could easily be tweaked to do so. Or, the states could develop their own systems to access federal databases, verify identity and allow businesses to request verification.

FL DMV can verify citizenship using federal and state(including other states) databases. No reason fraudent/forged ID cant be identified for employers.

And that's what Florida started to do re 2021, passed by DeSantis.

See Post 8 in the thread.

The claim is that E-verify cannot detect unauthourized workers who are using fraudulent or forged documents.

I am not addressing who uses it or doesnt and who has passed it.

What do you mean until we reach that point lol?

That was eons ago.

We aren't going to deport 11+ million people who are here illegally. Anyone who thinks we will is delusional.

What makes you think HB-1 workers and foreign students don't overstay their visas? That makes them illegal aliens, or what you euphemistically call them to make them sound less destructive to the US... "undocumented" immigrants.

The DOJ has already ruled that using E-Verify to confirm employment eligibility is unlawful citizenship-based and immigration status-based discrimination. The link was posted earlier in this thread.

Whether Republican or Democrat, no American actually wants to live in an area filled with immigrants.

That’s why you have many neighborhoods all over America that are essentially migrant quarters. They are like a different country.

That video is from a few days ago and the statements from the interview are from a few weeks ago. You'd know that if you watched the video along with the stated goal of 100 million. That's the "until we reach that point" I'm referring to. 11+ million makes it difficult to deport them but 100 million obliterates the border completely.

There is nothing to prevent the states from info sharing and/or the feds from info sharing with the states.
The push back will come from those who object to a Federal Data Base, even now verifying the credentials of a doctor requires a state by state enquiry because there is no central data base. What is needed is an updated guest worker program that is manageable and allows for the employer verification that you speak of.

With it legal guest workers information will all be on record and it won't be a guessing game.
