There are a lot of businesses who don't ask questions, and many of them pay under the table. That includes a lot, but by no means all, of the workers we see here in SC working for roofing and landscaping outfits, and the abattoirs and meat packing plants in the area.

What is also true, however, is that the ones with fake SS#s had income taxes and SS deducted from their paychecks, which ended up in the general fund, and spent their earnings locally which supported a strong economy. It's not all a one way street.
Are you aware that the one's with stolen SS#s (and even ITINs) file for refundable child tax credits, etc., and end up getting more FROM the Fed Gov than they ever pay in taxes?

Quite simple, if you can overcome the greed of the guilty employers who make large political donations, and convince candidates to do what needs to be done. Also quite unlikely.
Including a certain former president.

That doesn't happen as often as you think. Case in point: Mollie Tibbett's illegal alien killer. Iowa farm worker. He wasn't paid under the table. He used stolen ID documents to get his job. His employer thought he was legit.

A couple of things - that article is ten years old, from a minor TV station in Indianapolis. None of the links in it are still functional, so there is no way to investigate the back story.

Do you have a link to any data that is more current and searchable? I'm not saying it's true or false, simply that a single source is always suspect without examination.

The problem is that the Democrats will not sign an e-verify law so many times the employers get fooled by fake or stolen documents. Under Trump several business owners were held accountable. What's an undocumented immigrant anyhow?

It's not only jobs that bring them here but birthright citizenship for their kids, benefits and the constant promises of amnesty from the Democrats. The Democrats don't wish to fix any of that and won't finish the wall either.

Anything that the Republicans have tried to do the Democrats have blocked it.

You’re kidding yourself if you think Republicans as a whole support e-verify. They have opposed implementation many times. Why? Because their lobbyists and constituents employ oodles of illegal immigrants.

Be prepared for the costs of California produce to go through the roof! You realize that area grows about 60% of America's vegetables?
