You can wear all the BLM stuff you want. You could even be the leader of pAntifa... But if we spot you sporting "let's go Brandon" gear, that is crossing the line in San Fran...
It’s pretty simple (and hardly controversial) i.e. he was on duty (and not in a SFFD T-shirt). He clearly wanted attention; he got it. Why shouldn’t he be disciplined i.e. he can wear it on his own time.
Firemen shouldn't be wearing any sort of political clothing on the job, but should be able to wear what they want off the job.
If they are in a paid position (not volunteers putting in their own time) I agree. Same with ANY government employee-especially teachers whose apparel presents a political view to students. No BLM, no Pantia, no Biden/Harris shirts.
You can add "pride" shirts or flags in the classrooms to that list. None has any place in a professional environment, especially one with children present.

I'm on board with that. No Let's Go Brandon and no BLM and pAntifa stuff. I saw where a California teacher had Mao on the wall and a pAntifa flag hanging up in the classroom, and the school defended him until the pressure was too great and they had to let him go. Those kinds of teachers have no place in the classroom around young, impressionable minds. I think not being able to wear a LGB shirt at work is a small price to pay to uproot the commies from the classroom who are brainwashing children with their Marxist disease.
Firefighter here. Being Civil Service, I can't have a political sign in my yard, accept a card from a person running for office, and have to watch my actions.
I've voiced my opinion here, on the job and other places. Unfortunately, we don't have such thing as free speech. And I even voiced my opinion to the Civil Service Board. Their words? Basically, get over it.
This is in Louisiana. I'm not sure of Civil Service laws in other states.

I worked for the federal government. We couldn't campaign for a candidate, or even run for a partisan office, due to the Hatch Act. I think we were allowed a bumper sticker though, but I'm not certain about that. I'd never deface my vehicle with a bumper sticker of any kind.
Too bad the Hatch Act doesn't also include the President and members of Congress.
yes, that’s what we are being told. but you actually believe it? why are trump
rallies so peaceful? why haven’t all those in attendance done anything? conservative talk show hosts who support trump and are friends with him denounce 1/6. the narrative doesn’t hold up to reality.
Incorrect.
Charlottesville.
During a campaign he instructed his minions to beat up journalist and he would pay their lawyer fees. They promptly followed his directive. Go look it up .
As for the attire.... Yeah. Free speech is not absolute. You want to wear a kkk outfit and say it don't mean nuffin. I call hogwash. Go ask anyone wearing a military uniform or combat garb. Most wear it to signify their position or rank.
So too with folks that wear disparaging phrases. I appreciate that singling themselves out. I'm much obliged to keep them off my Christmas list.
