No. WaWa needs to have the groups of criminals stop breaking things and ransacking their store, so they can run their business without the criminals' interference.

And government was created to make the criminals stop, and get them out of law-abiding people's faces.

In the words of old T.J.:
"...to secure [their unalienable] rights, Governments are instituted among Men....

"....But when a long train of abuses and usurpations ... evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."

In other words, the purpose of Government is to protect the people's rights. And if govt fails to do it (or actively starts violating their rights itself), it's the people's right and their duty to get rid of that govt and set up a new one.

The above was enacted into law in July 1776, and was the first law ever adopted in the United States. (Laws passed before then were binding only upon "The Colonies"). And the passage above remains as valid and binding today as it was back then, except for a few parts that were modified by subsequent laws.

It's not WaWa's job to get the criminals to stop ransacking their store. It's the government's job, probably the city or state govt. And if the govt fails to do it, the govt should be tossed out and a different one put in.

I doubt it will impose a customer limit at any time as it would be hard for stores to follow, and cut into their business. They depend on that volume.

The mob was of 100 juveniles, and might be kids from the sama Middle or High School. The cops and the DA likely aren't going to pursue criminal charges.

And if a Republican was President and the Party held Congress, these kids would act the same way in NE Philly.
WaWa is big company. They should try every possible means to make the store viable. No location loses more money or makes less than a non existing location. They originally placed a store there for a reason. Its must be a good location.

The whole private security industry exists for a reason too.

If you watch the video there is actually a security guard walking around, not knowing what to do.

The looters should be arrested, and charged and made an example of here. The people to blame here are democrats who allow this as permissible behavior.

One major problem in the city right now is there is a massive shortage of police. The Academy was shut down for 2 years due to Covid while there was a large influx of Police retiring. Currently the force is on mandated 12 hour work days while being stretched thin. Wawa could have all the security they want, but if the Police can not respond immediately it means nothing.

My guess is it's just a matter of time before they start hitting stores which carry more expensive goods.
That was sarcasm, right? That's already been happening since 2020. Many pricey luxury goods stores on Chicago's Mag Mile have permanently closed due to repeated organized smash and grab mass lootings. The Chicago BLM leader calls the mass lootings "reparations."

Watch the videos of any of the luxury goods store mass lootings. The security guards just stand there. Since they're not real LEOs, they're not actually allowed to stop them or do anything about it.

Another insurrection in the empire of organized chaos. AOC will probably tell us they were just taking a little food home so their starving families can eat. I suppose it's possible, with the terrible Brandonconomy and Brandonflation. I'm certainly not happy about it.
AOC can't blame the Republicans and Trump any more, although I am sure she will still come out with some woke racist nonsense.

Perhaps AOC should put the blame on the current Democrat Administration, she is part of, and which is responsible for actually running the country.

Fascinating this becomes an AOC phenomenom. I remember going to a mall in the early 1990's and store clerks telling me of thieves who swarm stores.

It isn't a new thing kids.

Until they start actually arresting and prosecuting them seriously.

But for the city officials it's easier to not respond strongly and blame things like Social Media. (Don't laugh, that's what Chicago's mayor blamed for street takeovers)

Then when the stores and businesses complain they blame them for not being part of the solution.

The "this has happened before" schtick has worn thin. Just like the "well there were a lot more murders 30 years ago" so the recent 50% increase in City X is not a big deal.
