Let me guess, BBC News is apart of the Russian propaganda?

Engineering expert professor > armchair generals on city data hoping for WW3

He has a very unhealthy hatred of Russia.
There is zero incentive for Russia to blow up their own pipelines that they spent billions building that gives them leverage against the EU when they could just turn off the taps. ZERO.

However, there is major incentive for the US to do it, and we have Biden and Nuland on record saying they absolutely will stop NS2.
But CDPOC experts will tell us it's Putin personally diving in the Baltic Sea in scuba gear planting explosives.

Uh huh.
Tell us more about Putin's "machinations" please.

Our Intel is saying Russia did it, I wish I could trust that. Maybe Chaos did it.

Same intel community that said there was WMD in Iraq. They lost credibility decades ago

I don't get why Russia would sabotage their own pipeline. For one, if they want to stop pumping gas to Europe, they can just stop. Second, now that the pipeline is busted, Russia has lost a bargaining chip with Europe and Europe no longer needs to ponder the option of pressuring Ukraine to negotiate vs sky high energy prices this winter.

The only country this benefits is the USA.

At least they can't blame Russia for not turning the gas back on then. Keep destroying those pipelines... keep Europe in the cold!

To state the obvious: there is no benefit to Russia or the EU at large from this.

True, breaking something is far simpler than building it. If you have the appropriate diving equipment and trained drivers, blowing the pipeline is trivial. And perhaps not necessary-a trawler with a winch could lower an explosive and drag it along the bottom until it hit the pipeline and then release it-set off remotely or with a delay timer.

Yes but 90% of CDPoC will swear Russia did it.
I can understand falling for propaganda. I cannot understand not putting 2+2 together and following simple logic.

Loss of billions of $ in construction of the pipeline.
Loss of billions of $ in future LNG sales to EU.
Loss of hundreds of millions of $ of LNG leaking into the sea.
Loss of leverage over negotiations with US/NATO (let's be real, Ukraine isn't running the show here, it's US/NATO).

So yeah, nothing to lose.
