Disagree, without safety you have no freedom. They need to go hand in hand.

And 'freedom' can be more presented as 'acceptable' Freedom. Obviously you are not free to kill someone or drive 90 mph through a school crossing.

Does an 'inconvenience' count as crossing the line? Like wearing a mask during a pandemic? Or having to be searched before boarding a place?

these inconveniences on our Freedom are meant to enable our safety.
Oh boy. If masks were anything close to working we didn't need a vaccine. If the vaccine was so good we needed masks why? Doing dumb things just because a politician says so isn't very smart.

Kind of writes it's own headline.

I'll take freedom and make my own safety. I keep cash, guns, ammo, a couple fire extinguishers, months of food an 11,000 KW standby generator and a serious first aid kit on hand.

That question resembles the logical fallacy called a binary fallacy, false dilemma and so on.

My answer is we want both and I'll go for the tradeoffs to maximize both of these in addition to other things that matter . It's not really a this or that choice

Here are some more
" which is more important, safety or food?"
" which is more important, freedom or a good marriage?"
" which is more important cake or pastries?"
.
Then there's other questions ...
Safety? Whose safety, mine? or mine and other people?
Whose freedom, etc?

If one of my kids asked me that, The answer is "Just do what your mom tells you, and you'll live long enough to to get some freedom. and a mortgage, lol"

Nothing is more important than freedom. Freedom always finds the right path. But it’s not always easy. Freedom is also not perfect. There is a price to pay for freedom. And I’m not just talking about soldiers going to war and things of that nature. When you live in a free society it won’t be perfect. But what is perfect in reality? The government definitely has been taking away our freedoms one by one. And they’ve reached the pinnacle point when the average American has really started to take notice. It’s like wait a minute, you are now literally in every single aspect of my life. Telling me how and what I can do. Even now what I can say. It’s gone too far.

No. Taking away freedom means putting your life and safety in the hands of the government.

Freedom is not dependent upon safety.

If you are not safe, you ain’t free. Living in fear is farthest from freedom.

If someone is scared of everything, they need counseling. Those who live in fear should not dictate to the rest of us just so they can feel more comfortable.
