I don't have any problem with Capital punishment for the most heinous of crimes, murder, torture, and violent crimes against defenseless victims. The run of the mill violent criminals would be the hard ones to deal with. Chopping off the peckers of violent rapist may be a good one. Same with violence against children, maybe cut off 1 foot and 1 hand?

Excellent ideas. Extremely steep consequences are far better than spinning these losers through the revolving doors of justice so they can become repeat violent criminals. As it stands right now, consequences are wayyyy too weak.

I do have a problem with capital punishment. Not a problem with deserving individuals but with the possibility of innocent people getting put to death. And this has happened. Innocent people being erroneously convicted does happen.

I know of a young man being convicted and sentenced to ten years imprisonment for a rape that never happened. He sat in prison for two years before his retrial and release. I just happened to know this young man, which is how I came to know about his case.

On the positive side, there has never in the whole of history ever been a repeat offence after an execution!

And yet another senseless violent murder in NYC....

Lt. Alison Russo-Elling, 61, was walking to her station in Astoria after lunch on Thursday, just before 2:30 p.m., when a local resident, Peter Zisopoulos, 34, approached and stabbed her repeatedly, the police said.

The video is very disturbing to watch.

He has quite the history, murder, multiple assaults , stabbing, theft...
he was probably back out on the streets before his victim reached the hospital.

One would think it was a "fool me once" situation, but many of these Soros DAs are getting reelected. Our DA was reelected. Broke my heart. I always knew people here were stupid, and many govt. union stooges live here, but with all the negative press I thought she was a goner. Nope, reelected.

She was reelected "because feels."

It's simple to figure out. The more scared the constituents are, the more power they are willing to give to the government to keep them "safe." Keep in mind that the goal of the Democrats is to have a disarmed, compliant populace to rule over. If there's more crime, there are more people wanting the government to "protect" them by banning firearms. The long game of the Democrats is an ugly one.

My big time Dem supporting brother told me this summer his wife was driving in downtown LA when a car driven by a youth smashed into her. It was a hit and run. The driver of the other car quickly speed away but not before my sister in law saw the teen driving the car and the person seated beside him appear to be laughing.

Unfortunately it all happened so fast she wasn't able to snap a photo of the car.
