AP news reporting that Oath keepers trying to defend against Seditious conspiracy charges will claim that Trump was going to invoke the Insurrection act and call up militia's at that time his group would attack with guns. The best part of the defense is that Rhodes himself plans to take the stand and explain to a DC jury himself what he was doing. This is will be a disaster for him likely end in a long prison sentence of at least 10-14 years.

“Rhodes intends to take the stand to argue he believed Trump was going to invoke the Insurrection Act to call up a militia to support him, his lawyers have said. Trump didn’t do that, but Rhodes’ team says that what prosecutors allege was an illegal conspiracy was “actually lobbying and preparation for the President to utilize” the law.”

Hilarious at the wriggling and the key word is “believed”. Need proof, not just believing.

DOJ prosecutor will make a fool of Rhodes who will sound like some kind of crazy conspiracy theorist on the stand talking about Trump invoking the insurrection act. This defense does go along with recent release of video from the british documentary team of Roger Stone who also said Trump would use the insurrection act.

More hoping and wishing like the last 6 years and counting and another flavor of the week that folks believe are going to get him. Rhodes obviously has no proof or he wouldn’t have used the word “believed”. Just more hearsay that’ll result in nothing, but it’s great stuff that folks believe he incited the riot.

Yep. Rhodes is “believing”. If he had proof he’d say it.

Joe Biden is starting World War III and we are supposed to be concerned about a group of swamp creatures that have fabricated charge after charge for 6 years?

WTF is wrong with this country?

It was reported a year ago after Rhodes was arrested that the Oath Keepers believed Trump was going to invoke the Insurrection Act and call them up as his personal army. It got buried in the coverage. It might have been Forbes that published it.

If doesn’t help Rhodes and his four comrades that three of the eight charged with Seditious Conspiracy have pleaded guilty and cut plea deals which will require them to testify against their co-conspirators. They were also serving as bodyguards for Roger Stone and may have been in the War Room Bannon and Stone set up in the Willard Hotel. We may hear from them again, possibly later this year. I wouldn’t imagine it will take more than a week or so for Rhodes to be tried and convicted.

At that point we’ll find out how serious he is about protecting the Manchurian Cantelope with a decades-long vow of silence in Club Fed.

Your the one who is wishful thinking if you believe Mr Rhodes is going to be found not guilty by a liberal DC jury. This isn't a political hearing you seem to not understand the man is facing a jury in a federal criminal court room that will likely land him in federal prison for 10-15 years. These DC judges are handing out long sentences, and federal prison there is no parole he will serve 95%.

Rhodes is 57 years old he will be 72 years old when he gets out of prison. I would be surprised if he is still alive by then, prison is not he most healthy place to live out your life.

Reuters reports the jury is made up of 7 woman and 9 men they include Federal Employees from the department of State and homeland security, youth center worker, and a defence contractor. I'm betting the jury deliberates for no longer then 2-3 hours before he is toast.
