Why are we even involved? Geez, You would think Americans would understand why our Government intrusions and Puppet Dictators we put in place have caused the issue with our southern border. We need to do a better job of teaching the history of US Government intervention in countries because we just keep stepping in it.

When has US intervention in South or America ever improved anything in the long term?

US and British oil and gas companies were kicked out of Venezuela when Chavez nationalized their industry, that's why we're involved.

Are you that naive ?
When Venezuela was a major producer the people did benefit although there was always a certain degree of corruption. What exactly are these sanctions accomplishing that have been in place for years other than a mass exodus of Venezuelans, they never did anything to harm us.

So what? Saudi Arabia is like that and we love some Saudi Arabi as is most of OPEC. Russia is basically state-owned, its "private" as in Putin's Oiigarh friends run it and he gets a big cut.

That is not a good enough reason for the US to jump into their politics.

Ageed,

The issue is having a single commodity as your main source of income. Name one country that has Oil as its main source of GDP that is not corrupt. It does not exist and US intervention has never changed this.

Color me shocked that TeamBiden would support the Corrupt & Marxist Regime in Venezuela.

Not true. Typical corrupt oil curse country where vast majority of citizens get nothing from the resource.

There was always an inequity but not like today where residents are fleeing the country.

Biden is actually getting into bed with Maduro and we all know who will be getting "it".
Manduro is a communist, of course Biden's handlers want to pal up with him. Might be a better BFF than Xi. The fact that he's a bloody dictator that has brutalized his people just makes him more appealing to a totalitarian. Ironic that we're going to be all buddy-buggy with him, but the first thing Biden does when he takes office is to crap on Canadians, and Canadian oil exporters.
