It seems moving supply chains from China to cheaper countries doesn’t always work well.
Besides technology, people in many countries are much more “laidback” than the Chinese and do things slowly and carelessly.

According to a report by the Financial Times, Apple is facing a significant challenge in reducing its dependence on China. In particular, a supplier based in India is producing iPhone casings with a 50% rejection rate, compared to the company’s target of zero defects. The report suggests that Indian suppliers lack the can-do attitude of Chinese suppliers. One former Apple engineer further stated that the Indian supply chain suffers from a lack of urgency, which sometimes leads to longer supply times.

SIG Sauer is having the same problem with MIM parts made in India. Many blame the CEO, who was previously CEO of Kimber when they had a similar problem with MIM parts. This is all done as a cost-cutting measure at the expense of quality.

As far as Indian QC? Garbage. People in manufacturing tell me they need people full-time in India to enforce standards or it all goes to hell.
