More evidence (as if it were needed) that Biden and the Democratic party are doing everything in their power to harm this country.

Oil producers can have all the leases in the world.

Until rigs and people to work them are readily available , so what?

Demand can be reduced tomorrow.

Does every building in your town keep the building lights on all night long. Many do.
well there it is, the philosophy to restricting our supply for some is because “we use too much fuel”. naturally, we should use less…but why? the climate obviously. our air quality. well shouldn’t our population be decreased then to accommodate the climate? that has to be the end game. if not, then it is about control.

i guess my point is, the left seek to control your behavior then will blame higher prices on greedy corporations.

And here is the drill baby drill mantra. No matter what it does to the water and soil others need for their survival.

Earthquakes, who cares? People need cheap gasoline.

It makes no difference how many abandoned uncapped wells are leaking. Or how much flaring is making some to have breathing issues. We want cheap gasoline.

Do you have any clue as to the number of abandoned offshore leaking wells exist? It's ok if the fish and shrimp people are shut down and/or practically out of business. We need cheap and plentiful gasoline.

That entire petroleum industry has left a giant mess for others to deal with. Let the users pay to clean it up instead of the taxpayer. They are not always the same people.

We could save 10% and not even miss it if people would just think about what they do.

So Biden begging Venezuela and Iran to pump more extract oil more efficiently and cleanly than we do? Whether you like it or not, the world economy revolves on oil. Until that can change without crashing the economy which is what Biden is doing then yes drill baby drill.

I'd like oil companies to use the leasese they have before we start issuing new ones -- especially in the ocean.

You do realize that some of their leased land have no oil under it right? Aside for that you have to build an infrastructure to get to that land like roads bridges, lots, warehouses for equipment... Also there is this

He said not only is labor in short supply, but steel pipe and other equipment are on back order for months. The sand and water necessary for fracking are hard to come by too. And any company that wanted to start drilling on those 9,000 federal leases would face the same problems.

and this

Key facts about federal leases:

The law already requires companies to either produce oil and/or gas on leases or return the leases to the government – the so-called “use it or lose it” provision – generally in the first 10 years.
When a company acquires a lease, it makes a significant financial investment at the beginning of the lease in the form of a non-refundable bonus bid and pays additional rent until and unless it begins producing.
For federal onshore, the Mineral Leasing Act prevents any one company from locking up unproductive excessive federal acreage.
Developing a lease takes years and substantial effort to determine whether the underlying geology holds commercial quantities of oil and/or gas. The lengthy process to develop them from a lease often is extended by administrative and legal challenges at every step along the way.
