Yeah, "consenting" is not synonymous with "entitled to government affirmation." But really, if "love is love" is the moral and legal reasoning behind the Obergfell decision, why shouldn't a ruling like this one logically follow?

What about people who are in love with themselves? Should they too be entitled to preferential treatment from the government?

i would say we are 5-10 years from normalized child marriages and bestiality in places like NY, CA and academia

Well, this means anyone can claim legal entitlement from anyone.

Since no legal relationship has to be established at all to claim any assets.

Should be fun when sorting out estates.

Is that any different from common law marriage when one of the parties dies?

Everyone should have a will anyway.
