I saw this on Fox Business. He joins a long list of liberals, both public and private individuals that lecture the rest of us on how wasteful we are.

Mark Zuckerberg's private jet burned $158,000 worth of fuel in two months despite frequent climate activism

Btw, Why is anybody on FB these days? They knowingly suppress free speech and freedom of expression, while secretly tracking you and selling your information to the highest bidder.

But he's important, like John Kerry. Has to get where he's going in a hurry to do his "work".

It's the same mentality as Nancy Pelosi or Lori Lightfoot going to a salon to get their hair done during Covid, when their states and their policies forced all of those businesses to close.

Like all the other wealthy liberal elites, Zuckerberg wants the average citizen to suffer the consequences of the policies that he advocates for, yet he doesn't want to live by them himself. He's more of the mindset "Rules for thee, but not for me." People like Mark Zuckerberg should be the ones giving up their freedoms and comforts rather than the everyday working American. If these billionaires really care about climate change, then they'll give all their wealth and assets to all poor, middle, and working-class Americans so that they are able to afford the expenses these climate policies incur. They should also provide all the power and energy necessary so that all the electrical grids can keep running at full efficiency. Take away all of their luxuries and make them be the ones to suffer the consequences.

The uber wealthy (of all stripes) have been lecturing we peasants since the beginning of time. And the rules have never applied to these folks either. However, as much as you and every other right winger around here long to blame only liberals, it is my sad duty to remind you that those on the right also have their own share of hypocrites. For example: Republican representatives on both the state and national level come out as being against abortion for ANY reason. Then it turns out that one or two or three of them actually did believe that any babies conceived from their own loins are expendable. Payoff the girlfriend and move on. Or the lobbyist from Exxon shows up at a Republican Senator's private office wheeling a huge barrell a gold coins. Naturally, whatever that Senator may have said on the campaign trail about "draining the swamp" goes right out the window along with the Senator - now eager to hang with his new BFF's - all the other swamp creatures. You get the idea.

I like my celebrities to stick with what they're good at - acting, major league ball, hopscotch, etc. When they stray off to tell the rest of us how to live, I just go deaf. I make my own decisions on climate change based on what I read in the scientific journals. I follow the work of climatologist Dr. James Hansen closely. However, if Jim started making proclamations about how I should crochet an afghan, I would be extremely likely to ignore him.

Celebrities and billionaires can say all sorts of things, but I don't base my life on their opinions. Most other liberals are just like me. They don't let Mark Zuckerberg or even Barack Obama dictate to them how to live their lives. You conservatives should do the same and wean yourselves away from Hannity and his ilk. You will be amazed when you see how much more the world actually holds.

Good point. There's always a silver lining.

I think that you are being overly optimistic. The so-called new green deal probably won't survive the coming midterms.

As for gas, I can't but help feel very suspicious of Putin, the Saudi's, and Xi Jinping of China. I think they are planning some unholy alliance which will use oil as a way of controlling the nations of the world. Maybe I'm out there, but a near monopoly on oil would be a much faster and more efficient way of getting everyone to toe the line than the threat of climate change has done.

This is exactly why I don't take any of the green policies seriously. The wealthy elites and powerful politicians get to be exempt. I wish young college graduates could understand this dichotomy but they are relentlessly bombarded by misinformation in the universities and effectively turned into proverbial zombies that never question any policies.
