New Zealand's government on Tuesday proposed taxing the greenhouse gasses that farm animals make from burping and peeing as part of a plan to tackle climate change. The government said the farm levy would be a world first, and that farmers should be able to recoup the cost by charging more for climate-friendly products.
But farmers quickly condemned the plan. Federated Farmers, the industry's main lobby group, said the plan would "rip the guts out of small-town New Zealand" and see farms replaced with trees.
I wonder what the government thinks people will eat. Leaves?
Democrats absolutely ADMIRED Jacinda Ardern when New Zealand implemented their draconian COVID measures. I’m sure many Democrats are looking at this and trying to figure out how to implement something like this in the United States.
Probiotics for cows ! NZ has spent $380 billion to research reducing agricultural emissions. Net zero policies certainly are going to cost. And for those, at least in this example, that will be manufacturing this "probiotic", will definitely profit.
Far-left authoritarian psychosis has taken grip of formerly western-oriented nations across the globe. It's like something out of a dystopian fantasy film, only very real and dangerous. The World Economic Forum should be declared an international terror organization, and anybody holding office who's affiliated with it should be tossed out on their behind, at a minimum.
What would be cows contribution to GLOBAL climate change?
Likely not quantitatively significant.
Whatever numbers whoever came up with, will show the elimination of cows from the face of the earth will not in any way mitigate or prevent the earth's climate from changing.
The thought of cows being a culprit is the stuff of insanity. Whoever is advocating this needs a mental health checkup.

Indeed, it's a psychosis. Who ever heard of a civilization dying of insanity? Stay tuned, folks.

Exactly, especially while we have roughly 8k commercial airliners in the sky at any one time polluting our air, along with roughly 50k merchant ships killing our marine wildlife, and polluting our air and oceans. By all means though, it's those pesky cow and pig emissions that are the problem. Unreal.

That's a typo above. It's $380 million. $380 Billion would exceed our gross national product. Although I must say that 380 million would have been better spent on reforestation.
I had a quick look to see just how many trees are being planted and found this
Quote:
2,400 trees are cut down each minute.
Oops! So yeah, we have to make up for it by limiting cow burps emissions.

One can eat the leaves or smoke them. You'd be amazed at the wisdom one gets from them.
Well, the wisdom must have come from somewhere!
