I heard from someone at my church that it's been passed and that 2022 will be the last year for clock changing. Any update?

Don't think anything will happen. The bill has to go through congress and Biden, and there was lost interest in it. As we will have a new congress, what will their appetite be? Probably the earliest it will happen is 2024, to never happening.

Personally, I'm not for it. It's been tried before and reversed. I would just wish we would go back to the old dates, it used to be October thru April, and now its November thru March.

It passed the U.S. Senate back in March, but that's about it, still needs to pass the House and be signed into law by Biden.

U.S. Senate approves bill to make daylight saving time permanent

Quote:
The Senate approved the measure, called the Sunshine Protection Act, unanimously by voice vote. The House of Representatives, which has held a committee hearing on the matter, must still pass the bill before it can go to President Joe Biden to sign.

The White House has not said whether Biden supports it. A spokesman for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi declined to say if she supports the measure but said she was reviewing it closely.

From what I also read, its not a simple as just changing the dates. There's a lot of discussion and hearings with airlines and other businesses about disruption etc.

I agree with you, go back to the original dates...

I’ve had a coworker say that too. Have to wonder what their source is as it just went through a voice vote in the Senate and has completely stalled out in the house. Not gonna happen.

It's stalled in the House, perhaps permanently. As of last month, it is not on the schedule for debate.

As we are falling deeper into Autumn and the annual switching of the time is upon us. Let us take pause and reflect on just how messed up this has been for years. The Sunday of the change I was always running late or early, sometimes even Monday. Forget to change your clock you were in trouble. I'm talking pre-cell phone and internet, clocks had to manually be re-set. AAAAAHHHHHHHHH, those were the days.

The house is busy trying to find a reason to hang the former president. They don't have time for a 10 minute vote to settle the DST issue.

We should go back to standard time and stay there. Want more sunlight? Wake up earlier! Really we should abolish timezones altogether and just use UTC everywhere. It would simplify a LOT of things!
