There you go.
yup.. we refinanced to a 10 year mortgage. Life is good right now.

No, Knoxville is one of the hottest areas in the country because the secret got out and people from blue states are moving there. The "Nashville trickle" as I've always called it happened. I assure you RE has exploded there because everyone wants to live there now. I wish I owned a home in Knoxville, I know people who live there who have made a fortune just from owning a house over the past 5-10 years.
Well if I’m going through hard times due to external pressures on the economy, you best believe I would be better off having the ability to get on some kind of assistance. I say this as someone who was fortunate enough to only be unemployed once for about 4 months. The recipient is the one going through hard times, so it’s good that it helps them out, that is the logic of assistance. It also helps auxiliary businesses who would suffer if that recipient had no way to purchase their products.

I’m aware that Knoxville has been booming. You didn’t get that drift from my post. Conservatives happy that the red states are seeing growth and that blue states are going through a so called exodus, but upset that growth has other market forces namely rise in housing costs. Nope, just blame the president that housing costs are going up in your area of the country.

Well my career success has been directly attributable to Biden

If you need assistance, take it! That's what it's for. It sounds like you didn't abuse it and it helped you, so that's great. I'm all for that. It reminds me of my buddy who was on food stamps in college, he's successful now. That's how it's supposed to work but it is grossly and crazily abused. That's the stuff I don't like.

From what I hear, most transplants keep their mouths shut and just enjoy in Knoxville. I don't hear about a lot of California BS there, even in the really expensive parts. Knoxville is pretty diverse politically, though it's a safe red overall and always will be.

If I owned a home there I'd be ecstatic. But the secret got out and it's expensive there now. I know someone who bought a house for $215,000 in 2017 and just got it appraised at over $450,000 a couple weeks ago.
