LOL, in honor of Dementia Joe, I decided to use my stovetop coffee percolator today, with my GAS STOVE. I joked to my partner that Democrats would be clutching their pearls, with all of that energy use going on from ‘unacceptable’ sources.

What an idiot. Yet there’s always someone on this forum here to tell us that Joe Biden and the ‘adults in the room’ are doing a great job.

Can't rep you again cowboy - but this is the way it always is - I have to step back and take a couple of days away from the ideocracy as it never ends. I love when I'm called a republican and offer the names and numbers of the Democratic campaigns that I've worked on win the past only to hear crickets. They are too scared to accept the truth. Even a good portion of Dems no longer vote Democrat due to the stupidity they push.

It's funny how a story about Joe pushing tax credits for coffee machine has to set the context with this opener:

Quote:
Biden arrived to Portland, Oregon on Saturday night after a brief stop in Southern California where he creeped on a young girl.
There is so much awfulness with this guy they are combining stories so they won't have to write so many.

Dammit, I just bought a new coffee maker. I guess I'll just have to save this "windfall".

Below is a snippet of the actual speech. It's a big speech but this is the part which mentioned coffee machines.

https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-...an-families-3/

Quote:
If you lower prescription drug costs significantly, it lowers their cost of a family on inflation — for their family, it’s reduced. It goes on.

The same way what’s in the Inflation Reduction Act has to do with your ability to be able to get tax credits for buying — if you need a new coffee machine, a new washer, a new refrigerator, and you buy an efficient refrigerator, efficient coffee machine, you get a tax credit for it. It costs you less money. It’s estimated the average family will save $500 a year as well on just that.

There are also tax credits for weatherizing your home, putting in new windows to keep the — or a door that doesn’t, you know, leak air and bring in the cold, et cetera.

I won't be buying an energy efficient coffee machine, but I'm grateful for the cap on drug prices both now and in the future. That is, if the GOP doesn't overturn the whole thing if they take control.

I believe the cap on drug prices are for something like 10 specific drugs. I know none of mine are on the list.
