The Trump Organization charged the Secret Service “exorbitant rates” – upwards of $1.4 million over four years – to protect the former President and his family at properties they owned, according to documents released by the House Oversight Committee on Monday.
You know it is a partisan investigation when words such as exorbitant are used in the findings.

Is $1.4 Million over 4 years really that terrible to protect a President? How much is spent daily to protect the thousands of "Migrants" that are streaming across the Open Border?

Trump has had one criminal investigation after another, starting in the 80's. For as dumb as so many on this site here claim him to be, he is the luckiest MF'r on the planet or he is clean.

If he has actually broken laws, and can be criminally charged, get it done already.

So "making millions of dollars from his properties" is now rape and pillage? In some circles that's known as capitalism. So I take it you're a communist?

It's only acceptable though when it's a Republican right? the right rags on Biden all the time for having the SS protect him. Just like they did during Obama.

And none pocketed that money as Trump did.

The first President was Herbert Hoover & the second was John F. Kennedy. Both of these individuals began the practice of not accepting a salary in public office well before the presidency.

They probably spent 1.4 Million to do this "investigation". But anything to get Trump...Right?

During this time the Left was doing whatever it could to shut down and boycott any of its Properties. There were celebrations from the left when one of his properties went under. I'm convinced that 10 years after Trump passes away there will be some "Government Investigation" against Trump and the Left saying "Now we got him"...

To put this in perspective

Trump did donate his salary. If you take that into account he still donated about 200K more than the corporation billed for the rooms. Why is this important? Well...the Secret Service is renting a 30,000K house across the street to protect Hunter. Over a 4-year period that is 1.44 Million dollars. But I don't see his daddy donating back his salary.

Biden is putting in a 500K Fence around his house in Delaware. Why is this important? Well, this is the definition of excessive because according to Biden and this Administration walls don't work.

By the way, where is the investigation on Obama's Spending over 100 Million during his time in office? How much of that would they consider excessive?
Mr. Trump was forced to close Trump ‘University’ & settle lawsuits before he was inaugurated. On May 3, 2022 Trump Org & his inaugural committee settled a DC Civil Suit over Misuse of 2017 Inauguration Funds by paying $750,000. They were forced to close down Trump Foundation & pay $2 million in restitution after admitting to using the charitable foundation to raise money for political purposes during the 2016 campaign. & so on.

They do it because they can, they only stop when forced to.

The following is regarding the DC Civil Suit over Misuse of 2017 Inauguration Funds:
January 22, 2020
Committee Staff Collaborated with Trump Family to Dramatically Overpay for Use of Trump Hotel Event Spaces

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Attorney General Karl A. Racine today announced a lawsuit against the 58th Presidential Inaugural Committee and two entities that own or control the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C. for abusing nonprofit funds to enrich the Trump family. In its lawsuit, the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) alleges that the Inaugural Committee, a nonprofit corporation, coordinated with the Trump family to grossly overpay for event space in the Trump International Hotel. Although the Inaugural Committee was aware that it was paying far above market rates, it never considered less expensive alternatives, and even paid for space on days when it did not hold events. The Committee also improperly used non-profit funds to throw a private party for the Trump family costing several hundred thousand dollars. OAG’s lawsuit seeks to recover the amount improperly paid to the Trump Hotel, and to direct those funds to suitable nonprofit purposes.

“District law requires nonprofits to use their funds for their stated public purpose, not to benefit private individuals or companies,” said AG Racine. “In this case, we are seeking to recover the nonprofit funds that were improperly funneled directly to the Trump family business.”
