Expel these bums for their criminal assaults.

British police are investigating an assault on a protester who was beaten by several men after being dragged inside the grounds of the Chinese consulate in Manchester during a demonstration against President Xi Jinping.

Sunday's protest took place on the first day of the twice-a-decade congress of China's ruling Communist Party in Beijing at which Xi is widely expected to win a third leadership term.

The end result could be the sending home of the Consulate Staff involved including the Head of the Consulate who can be seen wearing a beret in the video and helping to attack protesters.

Calls for UK response after protester attacked at Chinese consulate - The Guardian

The Chinese don't seem to understand that you can have a large picture mocking their leader Xi Jinping.

As for the reason for the Chinese Consulate, it serves Manchester's Large China Town and Liverpool's China Town which is the oldest in Europe, as well as China towns in other northern cities, whilst the Chinese Community in Britain are usually from Hong Kong, which was a British territory until 1997, when the British lease expired.

There is a vast new Chinese Embassy opening in London which has been the subject of a lot of criticism, whilst China maintains consulates in Manchester, Edinburgh and Belfast.

The police should have arrested everyone that destroyed those banners and images and beat that man.

I think they have diplomatic immunity. When the gunman shot automatic rounds out of the Libyan embassy at protesters and killed a policewoman, the British just shut down the building. I think they later arrested the shooter in Libya, though.

Consular officers are not accorded absolute immunity from a host country’s criminal jurisdiction, they may be tried for certain local crimes upon action by a local court, however they are immune from local jurisdiction only in cases directly relating to consular functions.

I think the police should have taken firmer action, although officers are often reluctant to take action in diplomatic cases without first seeking instructions from Inspector or above.

There is a debate as to whether Diplomatic Immunity itself should face some kind of reform.

Whilst there is a lot of concern regarding the vast new Chinese Embassy on the former Royal Mint site in London, which China is currently refurbishing.

How does a criminal organization have "diplomatic immunity?" That's as ridiculous as claiming osama bin laden would have diplomatic immunity, or isis, or a Mexican drug cartel.

All you gotta have is diplomatic cover.

Didn't this happen in DC with some protesters beaten up in front of an embassy? Remember the ambassador whose son raped a US woman? He was sent home. Remember the US woman driving on the wrong side killed a guy in England? She won't face the music, either.

Diplomats don't even have to pay parking tickets!

But these aren't diplomats! They don't work for a nation, they work for a criminal organization, they have no diplomatic cover.
