Here is what he doesn't get. Oil companies have no incentives to increase production. As he has stated on many occasions that he will put them out of business. Right now I am sure the Oil industry will give him the same treatment the Saudis did with a big fat Single(and very specific) finger.

If he wants oil companies to increase production. Stop enacting legislation, creating Executive Orders, and making statements that are intended to shut down their industry.
What he says to the press is all talk. The actions he's taken are complete opposite.

Then again....we're living in make believe world under Joe.

His position on taxation also says the exact opposite.

the real question is what those in charge say. Remember the times Biden said things like oh the pandemic is over only to be corrected(overruled) by whatever Beauracrat is actually running things.

March 2022: Mr. Biden calls for more US production:

Now, Mr. Biden did pause some oil and gas leases (Gulf of Mexico, Federal land), but that is not the same as demanding that oil production cease or slow down. Indeed, under Mr. Biden, the USA has

"outpaced Donald Trump in issuing drilling permits on public lands. After setting a record for the largest offshore lease sale last year in the Gulf of Mexico, the Interior Department plans to auction off oil and gas drilling rights on more than 200,000 acres across Western states by the end of March, followed by 1 million acres in the Cook Inlet, off the coast of Alaska."

It is a complicated subject. Mr. Biden's actions have upset environmentalist. If they are upset, then you can bet that it is because he is opening up some Federal land for drilling (open some, close some).

It's not complicated at all.

1. Environmentalists per how you use the term are always upset it's part of their gag.

2. I'm in oil and gas every day and have been one way or another for 43 years...........Biden has done more to damage domestic O&G exploration than any president in decades. He's screwed things up so badly the majors, mid-majors and big independents are not drilling much even in the face of high crude and very high nat-gas prices.

Well, I'm sure this change of heart doesn't have anything to do with the upcoming midterm elections.

Anyone dumb enough to believe this was already voting Democrat no matter what.

In the NE US this winter when the lights go out (looks like that may actually happen), home heating oil bills skyrocket and natural gas heating bills do the same....................I hope democrat voters have the clearness of thought to understand that in great part they did it to themselves.

point of order, as of 48 hours ago, all 2022 offshore leasing sales were cancelled (3) and in the last week has PROPOSED, note the word PROPOSED anywhere from 0 to 11 offshore leasing sales at some point in the future (read: exactly zero if they retain complete control of govt.)
