It's not a flip flop.

Biden has been criticized for telling the oil companies to amp up production and increase the supply.

Sure -- in the long term the goal is to reduce our need for fossil fuels.....but for now --- we at least need production to grow with demand.

We've had endless dicussions on this very message board of Biden saying American oil producers are most definitely trying to keep supply down so the price stays high.

No they aren't.

fThey have been arguing with you lot since last year about how American oil companies have purposely kept supply low to keep prices high......and y'all said no way -- they aren't producing brcsudr their feelings are hurt about the call to reduce our fossil fuel needs.

(And then when surveyed only 10% of oil producers cited federal, state, local and social issues as to why they haven't ramped up production).

It is comical to see how things get spun -- sure on both sides...but in this case..this is hilarious.

Of course he did...the midterm election is just a few week away.
But I don't think anything Biden can or will do will make a hill of difference.

Biden will be a two year lame duck president and be total irreverent.

His base doesn't agree with that decision, and the courts agree with the left.

this is true, BUT equally true is they are doing it from the same turnip. when you essentially shut down ALL exploration and the fields literally rotate every 2-5 years....those wells are drying up at an accelerated rate. Biden, only wants the illusion until after the midterms and something about 11/11/22 his team is hammering us over. wait till 11 11...whatever that means. methinks it cant be something good

He will change his tune back regardless of how the mid terms go once they are over. As even in the most likely case GOP takes house and senate remains 50-50 and he cannot get his agenda done, he will try and use his limited power to stop oil production on federal land and such and whine about not having enough congress support for his agenda.

DO not be fooled voters. He is lying and only doing this in hopes to gain democratic seats for his party in mid terms so then he can really put the hammer down on fossil fuel production driving energy costs even ore through the roof.
Exactly right!

But oil producers did not cite lack of resources to amp up production, they openly admitted they were not amping up production to regain losses of 2020 and shore up their financial positions.

So all of you folks with your theories don't agree with the oil folks.

Your feelings aren't theirs.

There is nothing comical or hilarious about the price of oil and it's effect on our economy right now.

Biden and Co. are toying with the public in order to achieve a greater share of votes in the midterm elections. Period. Every day it is a new world. Let's see what Biden and his gang have come up with today to soothe the troubled political waters and hoodwink those ignorant voters. Amazingly (or should I say predictably), they continue to claim success with their diehard sucker fans.

As to your claim the woke bunch has been "arguing with you lot since last year about how American oil companies have purposely kept supply low to keep prices high", well I guess I missed that but it sounds typical of them. Quick question on this slant of reasoning, why didn't the oil companies embrace this money making leverage during the Trump administration?
