"Because this state is overflowing with evangelicals."

Some are so insecure in their own lives, they have to attack others!

"Also gerrymandering."

Dems have been using gerrymandering for as long as I lived.

But, but, but, repubs!

Who is grabbing guns and in which state are they doing this? Paranoid folks shouldn`t be playing with guns.

Do you view Hispanics taking over via illegal immigration and anchor babies as a good thing?

It is very simple. The Dems started to move further left and the residents of Texas didn't like that.

Look at the history of TX Governors....there were plenty of Dems elected.
But once they started to move further left.....not any more.

Dems used to be for the working class...white collar, blue collar. Not anymore though.

Pretty much this.

The Democrat party lurched to the far-left in the 2008 election cycle (it really sort of started with Al Gore in 2000 refusing to concede his election loss) and by doing so, alienated blue-dog dems, moderates and most independents. They've even left behind hispanics/latinos, abandoned nuclear family values and insulted them by opening the border and allowing in anybody that shows up.

And whose fault is that?

If the fed is granting leases and issuing permits, I would think it is up to them to monitor them.

Got a complaint, go to your elected representatives.

"My opinion and the opinion of many others"

And I'd bet we could just as many who do NOT agree with you and your "many".
Tell it to ranchers around thePermian Basin whose land is being tainted by burping abandoned wells.

When state and county road construction has to be stopped for 2 or more years while they locate the owner of an abandoned well it's an issue.

Blacks will pick Jesus over Democrats 100% of the time. Sorry.
I think that's why Mayor Pete didn't stand a chance in the primaries. He got his butt handed to him in South Carolina, which gave Joe the pathway towards the democrat nomination.

SC 2020 Primary:
Quote:
Biden won 48.7% of the popular vote and notably placed first in every county in the state; it was his first ever win in a presidential primary. Sanders came in second place and won 19.8% of the popular vote. Businessman Tom Steyer, who had staked his entire campaign on the state, placed third but did not surpass the threshold and dropped out of the race, endorsing Biden.

The primary was widely interpreted as a turning point for the 2020 primaries, with Joe Biden gaining momentum going into the pivotal Super Tuesday races three days later. Following successes in the previous primaries, former mayor Pete Buttigieg and senator Amy Klobuchar received very disappointing results and initially wanted to stay in the race, but they both suspended their campaigns shortly before Super Tuesday and endorsed Biden on the day before.[2][3][4] While Biden and former mayor Michael Bloomberg were left as the only moderates afterwards, the majority coalesced around Biden in the race against left-wing candidates Sanders and senator Elizabeth Warren.

Agree. I lived in Texas for over 25 years and saw it happen.

Both New Hampshire and Vermont have/will have Republican Governors, with CT somewhat in the running with the Dem candidate only leading by 7 points in the latest poll. Massachusetts has a long history of Republican governors as well.

When it comes to state politics, many states elect Republicans.

RCP is projecting 31 Republican governors, a pick-up of +3.

The truth is that the modern Democratic Party is out of touch with the average Texan, of the last twenty-eight years.
A very simple answer … the anti-energy platform of the democrats doesn’t fit with Texas being a major producer of oil and gas.

Secondly, Texas is a very big state with a significant rural population which are typically conservative, no-nonsense type country folks who are ranchers and farmers. Most of the leftwing policies are contrary to the best interests and beliefs of a significant portion of these people here. The democrats only do well in certain large urban areas populated by left leaning idiots, but not enough of them (thank God) to tip the scales.

Then there is the firearm issue. Nothing will rally the masses here more than these gun grabbing buffoons like Beto O’Rourke. He’s a Republican wet dream for how he puts the democrat insanity under a spotlight. The guy is an unhinged leftist, preaching global warming, higher taxes and gun confiscation everywhere he goes. That’s like a satanist preaching child sacrifice to a Southern Baptist Congregation. It just doesn’t go over well here.

In the Austin metro areas, you’ll see an alarming number of Beto signs in front yards, but travel a few miles outside of town, and try to put one there, and you might get shot at LOL.
