Because it's pretty much the only mainstream semi-reliable conservative news outlet that's available on TV. And to be perfectly honest, a lot of conservatives just repeat the same talking points they hear on TV. The guy comparing Democracy and Socialism is a perfect example. No telling how many times I've heard that one from Republicans.

It doesn't mean that it is not their own talking points based on research, facts and experience. I'm a conservative and I base my opinions on the latter not any new's source. Let's face it you guys use the Fox News argument just to demonize us and just make assumptions that we base our views on what any conservative new's source says instead of our own informed views.

Democracy is good but socialism is bad. Where is the conflict or do you disagree?

I've heard liberals repeat what CNN says to. Should I assume that they don't think for themselves?

There are plenty of Democrats that repeat the same talking points, but in general I find Democrats to have more nuance regarding most topics than Republicans.

And regarding the Democracy vs Socialism comparison, you can't even compare them and anyone who tries to, well, it's clear to me that they don't understand either and are just repeating the mainstream Republican talking points. "Socialism" is used as a word to spread fear but the people who are targets of this fear don't realize that most of our public services are "Socialism".

Where has anyone on the right claimed that Democracy is the same as Socialism? Socialism is what the Democrats strive for though in reality. It's not used to instill fear it's a fact.

I disagree that our public services are socialism because the taxpayer pays for them.

NOT the ONLY!

Goes to show you are WRONG, right off the bat.

"And to be perfectly honest, a lot of conservatives just repeat the same talking points they hear on TV."

And to be perfectly honest, a lot of LIBERALS just repeat the same talking points they hear on TV.

"No telling how many times I've heard that one from Republicans."

By your claim there is only 1 station for repubs. Which is NOT true.

And you have NO problem with alphabet tv sations, abc, nbc, cbs, cnn, msnbc, I probably missed a couple, who spiel out the SAME talking points over and over.

Then we have the major so called "news" papers around the country, which are ALL liberal.

I have noticed when the New York Slime uses a word a or phrase in thier morning edition, ALL the alphabet TV so called "news" stations, use the EXACT same word or phrase.

By your own admission, repubs are outnumbered 5 to 1 on TV. And the 5 all say the same things and you are OK with it.

It's the same w/ CA except completely opposite parties...the GOP doesn't represent what Californians want so they don't win out there in state wide elections...

NY hasn't elected a GOP Senator since the 80s/90s Alfonse D'Amato...and 1998 w/ George Pataki as governor...
CA hasn't elected a GOP Senator in my lifetime I dont' think, and barely elected a left of center republican in Arnold Swartzenagger in 2002 or so but that was it...and if he had the social views, and anti-environmental views of most Repubs, even he wouldn't have been elected during that recall of Gray DAvis.
