Tonsillectomies were routine in the 1960s-1980s, and then fell out of favor. Now they are done very selectively.

Circumcisions seemed to follow the same pattern (like a fad). Canada and Australia are opting out unless needed to correct a problem like phimosis.

American newborn males are now clipped about 55% of the time.

It's not a major issue to me, but I wouldn't mind having mine back.

If you feel very strongly about it, there are foreskin restoration techniques, although the end result won’t be quite the same thing.
