Given the US's propensity for being deceitful, I wouldn't doubt our statements are full of distortions and lies. We can't really lie our way out of our own past though, the decedents of slaves here won't ever permit us to forget, and it is pretty clear we have millions upon millions of illegal aliens in our current workforce, and that isn't unintentional either so criticizing a low wage in China is going to seem like throwing stones while reclining in a glass house.
Look at how our citizenry and phony 'western media' is so quick to run with anything they can conjure up to demonize a nation we fear is going to overtake us. We should be more concerned about ourselves, then we are about concocting stories about an elderly/infirm old Chinese leader who needed an escort.
Slavery was practiced almost everywhere around the world. It is not in any way uniquely American. Brazil actually took far more slaves, and it lasted longer there. But America is the evil one you say? I'm not sure what you accuse us of hiding, so I'm not going to pretend to know what you are talking about.
The illegals come here willingly. In fact, we tell them not to come, but they come anyways. We even have laws saying that it is against the law for them to come here illegally. You're right... It is the crime of the century that we are not doing enough to stop illegals from coming here...
The media is a joke, but I don't know what that has to do with anything. China has state run/controlled media, where you are told what to think instead of having the option to form your own opinions. Not my cup of tea, thank you. If you want to talk about fear overtaking a country though, just look at China's "zero Covid" policy.
A soulless nation (literally, they don't believe in it) full of pollution and densely packed with people is just not my thing. I would not be happier there, that much I can promise. It seems most Americans and Chinese agree, since there is a huge surplus of Chinese immigrating here vs Americans immigrating there.

Every nation goes through growing pains, whether it be polluting or stealing technology. We went through that phase when we were a young nation, when we stole from Europe and when LA was full of smog.
BTW, China is leading the world in renewable energy production and technology and has more EVs on the road than the rest of the world combined based on recent sales figures. You might want to beat up on the next whipping boy India who has more pollution than China now, but you knew that right?

The media has a lot to do with this story. If you run a search, you will see a myriad of misleading Western media stories regarding this incident. It's common practice.
When these words are written/spoken they are manifestly hollow (Not specifically saying this to you). The US tacitly approves of the illegal immigrants on one hand, then pretends to be upset about it on the other. We pound our chests regarding our large GDP/economy, but the reality is GDP and economy would be cut way down without the help and support from our maligned/hated illegal alien workforce.

All media lied. China's state run media said COVID came from a wet market. Meanwhile, the young healthy doctor who tried to warn the world about the virus ended up mysteriously dying from it after the CCP got ahold of him. The CCP actively denied and tried to hide the very existence of the virus in the beginning. Communicating on the internet about the virus was a very dangerous thing over there. So China's state controlled media had a lockdown on the COVID narratives.
Neither media is all that trustworthy, but at least with US media, I have the option of changing the channel to FOX if I don't like the state captured leftist media. 2nd opinions are welcome in the USA. And many more too. We even allow (for some reason) China and Russia to push propaganda in the USA. Everyone is welcome to voice their opinions here, but what you don't get to do is force people to believe your propaganda. Are you aware that China's state controlled media even tried claiming the virus came from the USA military???
The law is very clear here about illegals. They are not welcome, unless they go through the proper channels... That is, immigrate, or get a workers/tourist visa and come here for a shorter stay legally. We cannot and will not be held accountable for people from other countries breaking our laws. We allow people from all over the world to come here, so long as they do it right and proper, by the book. We are a nation of law and order after all. But I guess in your mixed up world, it's our fault we have thousands of miles of border to secure, and we can't stop everyone from coming here illegally. And I'm sure you are aware China has illegals too, usually coming from other Asian countries like North Korea and Myanmar but also from Africa as well.

BTW, from a numbers perspective I don't disagree with you but the trend is changing. There are fewer people wanting to immigrate to the US and there are Americans who are very happy in China.
This American family moved there 20 years ago, and don't want to move back. Unfortunately, they aren't able to get permanent residency and have to apply yearly to stay which is a huge burden. That's a mindset that's unimaginable to us here, the low levels of violence and a trust in the government. We project our experiences and what we know upon others and make all of our assumptions based on lies that our politicians and media spew. We can't believe that China is different and better in certain aspects.
