well, #1, the above is a lie. A Big one: https://www.statista.com/statistics/...es-since-1990/

well as obama said, never underestimate Joes ability to do what?

The highest gas prices the planet has ever seen came directly from Obama, and later Biden policies. Period. Mic drop.

(do kinda miss Clintons complete 'hands off' approach to the economy, namely energy sector) that was the last time that you said you never had to worry about filling your car...

Some of these 'shortages' are artificially induced.

For instance, Trump made a two year agreement with OPEC to cut back production.

When crops fail, there are shortages; this is fundamental.
Is it manipulated at times by greed?, of course. But oil companies were not subsidized like every other business during the great shutdown...so.
Had people read into the headlines of 25 days, they would have understood the rest of the planet would have to stop refining diesel for that headline to be accurate...which isn't going to happen.
Are we heading towards an energy crises?, most definitely.

Hard to say. Depends on a bunch of factors. What happens in Europe with fuel shortages, the war in Ukraine and gasoline usage around the world. Also if OPEC+ cuts production.

If we slump into a bad recession and demand for gas as well as lots of people out of work that may not be true. Look at oil prices when we shut down the economy. Gas prices went into free fall. Its supply and demand.
