In 2010, it was Christine O’Donnell, the Senate candidate from Delaware, who confirmed that she was not a witch and lost the election.

In 2012, it was Todd Akin, the Senate candidate from Missouri, who said some unusual things about abortion and lost the election.

In 2023, it’s Herschel Walker.

Why does the GOP keep nominating candidates with little if any experience or capabilities, and with screwy ideas or sayings, who lose elections that should be winnable?

GOP, a football player who paid women to have abortions is really the most qualified candidate?

Walker was the Trump pick. Trump is popular in GOP circles.

Easy math.

Stupid math, but easy.

Both parties have been selecting poor quality candidates. This is in no way a republican phenomena.

The same reason Democrats do. The primary system is flawed because in some states independents can't vote in a primary and therefore each party generally nominates the most extreme (right or left) who repeats the buzzwords that the base wants to hear (abortion, racism, anti-gay, environment). The things that don't affect a majority of the population.

I'm sure Walker is a bad candidate for other reasons but wouldn't a modern woman appreciate a guy who was willing to step up and pay for her abortion?

LOL, the same could be asked of Democrats.

In 2016, it was Hillary Clinton, the divisive and corrupt candidate from New York, who was unable to connect with voters, focused on fake “ZOMG RUSSIA COLLUSION,” and lost the election.

In 2022, it’s John Fetterman, the candidate who doesn’t show up for his current job, can’t speak coherently, is anti-police and pro-criminal, and should be focusing on recovery from his stroke instead of running for office to push leftist policy on all of us.

In 2022, it’s Katie Hobbs, the incompetent candidate who is afraid to debate, thinks our border is already secure (lol), and has screwy ideas about teaching kindergartners about sex.

In 2022, it’s Mandela Barnes, the candidate who is anti-police and wants to continue to defund police departments across Wisconsin as crime surges, and doesn’t care about the concerns of citizens who live in Wisconsin.

In 2022, it’s Mark Kelly, the candidate (and unfortunately the incumbent) who lives in a border state, yet very much supports illegal immigration and votes against border security measures at every opportunity, even as drugs pour across the border.

Why does the Democrat Party keep nominating candidates with little if any experience or capabilities, and with screwy ideas or sayings, who lose (or will lose) elections that should be winnable?

Kamala proved "most qualified" doesn't mean anything.

She has countless years of experience and gives 1st grade speeches with word salads. Talks like she has never served a day in public office before.

You would think so! Given Democrats’ affinity for abortion, they should be praising this, and may even want to consider voting for Walker for this reason.
