With the speaker of the house set to change, a lot of speculation is surrounding whether Nancy Pelosi will finally retired after many decades of politics.

https://nypost.com/2022/01/04/nancy-...lose-midterms/

Sources in the article say Nancy doesn’t want to be unseated again as the speaker and will just call it quits to spend time with her husband at the family vineyards in Napa valley.

Your thoughts?

One can only hope. But she wont be hangin in Napa Valley. She wants to be ambassador to Italy. It would be good to have her out of the country but I'd rather not keep paying her.

Putting Pelosi as the Italian ambassador is not wise move since it’s wine country. Italy is much stricter on DUIs than Napa valley.

Nancy could the ambassador to the Vatican if the democrats supported that position once Obama severed ties and pulled that ambassador. But again, it’s in wine country. Ugh.

But eventually Pelosi will lose cognitive ability by 2030. She was born before world war 2 !?!?

If she retires, she`ll be replaced with another San Fransisco Democrat. They`ll have someone new to hate.

The GOP should put her on the least important committee in the House. She can stew in the basement doing nothing until she retires.

Had to look it up to be certain. When Pelosi was re-elected to the position of Speaker of the House by her fellow democrats, she initially had pushback from younger members of her political party. Pelosi offered to only be Speaker for four more years - basically, during Joe Biden's first (only?) term as POTUS.

IMO, Pelosi is definitely not running for re-election in 2024. If (more likely when) Republicans take back the House next year, Pelosi may let younger Democrats move forward in leadership positions while she moves to the back benches - she may not be even House Minority leader starting in late 2023 or early 2024.
