Then you have what is deemed harmful content which can include a lot of things, whilst encryption and services such as Telegram are seeing legislative clampdowns in Europe and other parts of the world, and Social Media managers are now becoming criminally responsible if content is not removed or if authorities aren't given access to encrypted content.
Yeah, it's awful. When the government controls the narrative there is no liberty.

Just thought i would throw that out there from the article for people whose first language, or reading skill, is not English.

Always helps to read the item before you rush to judgment about your government trying to clean up the stuff that got some of you mercilessly divided.
So they were legitimately working for the good of the people? Is this a joke? The next paragraph after the one you posted refers to censorship and manipulation caused by collusion of government and big tech.

“Areas that came under this purview included the withdrawal from Afghanistan, undertaken disastrously by President Joe Biden in August 2021 as well as the origins of the Covid-19 virus, which became controversial enough that users were kicked off social media platforms for expressing the hypothesis that the virus originated in a Wuhan, China lab. A Senate report found last week that this was the most likely scenario. Information that could undermine trust in financial institutions was also targeted”

Who determines what is “misinformation”? A whole lot of people got banned from social media platforms for posting information that the government didn’t like, but which was actually true. People are still getting bans for posting information which is true but “unacceptable”.

You may have noticed that we had a president (sic) elected due to false info on social media, targeted to people who were most vulnerable and unable to understand that they were being manipulated. Our Nation is still reeling from that episode. Do we need a greater example of the dangers of false information posted on publicly accessible media?

We all noticed, that’s why most of us who pay attention are miffed at the 81 million idiots who voted for Biden. The problem is, the very same government entities who put out the misinformation which got him elected are the ones in charge of censoring “misinformation” on social media.

Disinformation like Hunter Biden's laptop, which the big tech companies were told to censor, then later turned out to be true?

I don't even care what's on the laptop. But the fact that the government coerced, or if the media companies colluded, to hide the story, leads me to wish them all misfortune.

There isn't going to be any on-line freedom and internet social media is just considered a public realm the same as a physical public realm, and has just the same rules and regulations.

The US, the EU and other governments are just colluding to regulate on line contents and speech ever further.

Exactly. And this spans parties.

Unfortunately, Trump actually paved the way for this to happen. It all started when he signed the 2018 The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Act. Whether he knew that this would eventually happen or not, we will never know.

Good grief.
Democrats, tech and media collusion to censor, control and manipulate is one of the greatest threats to this country that I have seen in my lifetime. Along with democrat policies, the combination is lethal to our freedoms and liberties.
You will soon see democrats obliterated by voters. Thanks to those who are paying attention.

Let me know when you find evidence that government forced a private company to censor something.
