Dr Califf is head of the FDA, Commissioner of Food and Drugs.
He's supposed to approve safe and effective drugs, not be Pfizer's pimp. This is it folks, our health regulatory agencies now work for the Pharmaceutical companies.

Back in the 70s and 80s, 60 Minutes loved showing how the hard working researchers at the FDA thwarted Big Pharma's attempts to get unsafe medications approved.
Where's the special showing the FDA is now in the pocket of Big Pharma and rubber-stamps Big Pharma's research findings?

I don't know, but my question was serious. I finally caught Covid, diagnosed last week Wednesday 10/26. Doctor put me on Paxlovid. I really couldn't find anything wrong with it, beyond it gives you a metallic taste that last all through taking it.
Plus, I've heard of Paxlovid-rebound. But nothing else bad about it. My last pills were this past Monday.

My doctor once told me pharmaceutical companies have no business placing ads on television. He said he was best qualified to prescribe meds and the ads often promised far more than they could ever deliver. And the ads put him in a position of having to say no when a patient wanted a medication because they saw it on television.
At the time (1990s?), I thought it was in very bad taste for pharmaceutical companies to advertise their drugs. It was kind of shocking, actually.
